How to disable or fix Inertial/Momentum Scrolling?
We have an app (Online Bible) that works under WINE except you have to disable inertial/momentum scrolling on the Mac; otherwise when you scroll in the app's window, scrolling never stops until it reaches the end of all text in the window. Surely others have run into this behavior? Is there a way to disable inertial scrolling within the WINE app window, without having to disable it

predict assistance
I have a question regarding application of model coefficients between datasets. In particular, I have several datasets which I would like to apply a model estimated from only a single dataset (sort of a crude - out of sample application - to show the variances). lets say, names(a) [1] "stdnoi" "momentum" "tbm3" "metcons" "premium"

Momentum Datalink v3.0 not working at all
Hi, My first post here, so help me right if I'm not following protocol. My problem basically boils down to this. I need this program to download the data from me and my wife's pedometers for health insurance purposes. This program is supposed to work on Win 2000 through Vista, but should run on 7 as well. I'm running latest Wine ( 1.3.xx from PPA) on Kubuntu 11.10. It installs

Why would I choose RoR over Turbogears
I''m trying to get some answers as to why I (my company actually) would go with RoR over TurboGears. The developer staff is fluent in both Ruby and Python so that is not an issue. Rails is well into its release cycle whereas Turbogears won''t be at 1.0 until later this week. They both do essentially the same thing and they both have cool features unique to themselves

No luck with "UNIX password sync"
I was very excited when I ran across the "UNIX password sync" directive in the smb.conf!!! THAT would be convenient and really add to the making the server seamless!! Unfortunately I haven't been able to get the unix and smbpasswords to sync from changing within win95. The posts I've seen in the mailing list concerning sync have so far gone unanswered :-( I'm just looking

rda variance partioning in vegan problems
This is not a request for coding help so there is no reproducible code, rather I am trying to figure out if anyone had had a similar experience. My question is related to partitioning the variance in rda (vegan) results for multiple groups of variables. I have a high dimensional dataset with 79 explanatory variables and 9 response variables. Within those 79 explanatory variables there are ~8

Total inertia in package Vegan?
Dear all at the R-project help list. I have run into a problem when it comes to getting values for "total inertia" and "R-squared" for my DCA using "decorana" in the package "vegan". I have tried the "goodness" function, but the reply indicates that it does not work with "decorana" class objects. In Canoco one gets the Total inertia in

Resigning as lead of the Virt SIG
Hi all, I wanted to let you know that I feel I need to step down as leader of the Virtualisation SIG. When I originally was approached by KB to do this, it was always clear that this would be a temporary thing until the SIG got going. At the time, only Xen and CentOS folks were involved with the SIG. Since then, we added oVirt and Docker maintainers, have a total of 5 maintainers and built good

apply.rolling() to a multi column timeSeries
Hello there, I am trying to compute the 3 months return momentum with the timeSeries x.ts, which is just a subset of simple returns from a much bigger series, > class(x.ts) [1] "timeSeries" attr(,"package") [1] "timeSeries" > dim(x.ts) [1] 20 3 > x.ts[1:8,] GMT MS.US AAPL.US CA.FP 1996-01-31 0.15159065 -0.133391894

Which security to use? Domain or ADS?
Hi, I've got a working scenario of samba in "server" security. I need to replace the server used to authenticate so I'd like to use the momentum and switch the security method to something better (domain or ads). I want to avoid having my SAMBA server join my (Active Directory) domain if at all possible. Am I asking the impossible? Can someone recommend the best or most

Please share your Solaris experiences on the Asterisk Solaris Wiki page
Logan O'Sullivan Bruns wrote: > I know Solaris isn't a well tested platform and I did have to make > some minor code changes to get to compile on my sun box. Well done! We need more momentum for Asterisk on non-Linux platforms. Building a community around Solaris much like there is a community around BSD, would be very helpful. This will only happen if Solaris users start sharing

On2 VP3 codec for Intel macs
Hi all, It's been a few years since I encoded a number of movies using the VP3 codec (v3.2) on my Quicksilver PPC. Now I have a new Intel mac and I'd like to play them. However, it seems that the codec offered on On2's website is only for the PPC architecture. Does anyone know a workaround or some other codec that works on the MacIntel platform? I'm using Quicktime Pro 7.

I am getting the following erro rmessage in ordistep. I have a number of similarly structured datasets using ordistep in a loop, and the message only occurs for some of the datasets. I cannot include a reproducible sample - the specific datasets where this is occur ing are fairly large and there are several pcnm's in the rhs of the formula. thanks for any pointers that may allow me to

New Asterisk Manager Proxy -- astmanproxy 1.0
Hi folks -- For those of us trying to develop interactive web-based Asterisk applications, it can be a challenge getting Asterisk integrated in a cgi/mod_perl/php environment. The load associated with making multiple connections to asterisk via the manager port, having to teach our applications to parse "manager-ese", and a variety of other factors have all pointed to the need for
