read file with readBin (the file was saved with a C-routine)
Hello!
I have problems with using of "readBin" to read files, which was written in C with "fwrite". In the C-File there is the following Code:
fwrite(MyitINI,sizeof(itINItype),1,outfile);
where MyitINI is a structure of the following form
typedef struct{
int KernelFileSave; /* Determined, if Systemmatrix saved or not.*/

Impact of the Debian OpenSSL vulnerability
A severe vulnerability was found in the random number generator (RNG)
of the Debian OpenSSL package, starting with version 0.9.8c-1 (and
similar packages in derived distributions such as Ubuntu). While this
bug is not present in the OpenSSL packages provided by CentOS, it may
still affect CentOS users.
The bug barred the OpenSSL random number generator from gaining enough
entropy required for

best method to format output of frequency table
I have some security alert log data that I'm parsing and doing some stats on.
One of the fields is the "Classtype" which is the enumerated value of the
type of alert found.
classtypes = factor( alerts$Classtype )
fclass_types = table( classtypes )
fclass_types gives me a frequency table of the intrusion types:

Newbie Trying To Get Ghost Recon To Install
Hello,
I'm new to using WINE (and to these lists), so I apologize if this has
been asked and answered already: Has anyone been able to get Ghost Recon
to at least install? The autorun program came up just fine, but when I
click the button to install, it promptly quits. I tried running the
setup.exe program directly, and it gets as far as trying to setup and
install shield wizard, and then

locked account accessable via pubkey auth
maybe this is a silly question ;-) But why is it possible to login on a
machine with a locked account (passwd -l ) via pubkey-authentication
(authorized_keys) ?
I use OpenSSH3.01p1on Solaris8 with PAM support so I thought this should not
happen.
If this is the normal behaviour and built in intentionally what would be the
easiest way to lock an account without deleting the users authorized_keys ?

Hi Bert,
I won't post any more messages on this thread as problem has shifted from Optimization in R to Graph Algorithms.
Rest fine

Rmpi on Linux x86_64 GNU/Linux
I'm having trouble with R CMD INSTALL Rmpi_0.5-5.tar.gz
--configure-args=~/lam
lam is is installed locally.
lamboot -d (or lamboot-d and also recon) works. make -k check from the
lamtest suite passes all tests.
Is this is problem with the -fPIC compiler as in the message? Should it
be modified in the Makefile?
Any help or comments are appreciated, thanks.

FYI: SSH1 now disabled at compile-time by default
No, I just think 15 years or so is more than enough time to have
addressed the issue.

FYI: SSH1 now disabled at compile-time by default
Protocols and ciphers are sunsetted all the time, this is a regular thing,
but there are announcements before breaking changes are inserted. You
assume people are slow to update anyway; some are, some aren't, what you're
doing is wildly rewarding the slow updaters and punishing the fast ones.
That has negative effects elsewhere.
What would it hurt to announce the release in 3-6 months

People who need it can build their own, or OS vendors might supply a
non-default v.1 capable client binary themselves.
IMO it's time to apply some selection pressure to a protocol that can't
be secured.
