[ruby-libvirt] who's using it
Hey all, I would like to know who / what project is using this binding. So I could learn the API a bit easier than reading through the rough rdoc-based API documentation, which is not really helpful to me, as I do not know the C API yet either. my intention is, to some day, be able to create a Rails web app for managing libvirt hosts (mainly OpenVZ/vserver/LXC and possibly QEMU). Thanks in

Hello! I just installed the qemu package 1.0. Trying to start my vms with libvirt (virt-manager) resulted in the following error message: internal error cannot parse /usr/local/bin/qemu-system-arm version number in 'QEMU emulator version 1.0, Copyright (c) 2003-2008 Fabrice Bellard' After that I installed the qemu package 0.15 and i didn't receive error. But i have problems with

Virtual Asterisk Installation
Hi all! I've been reading this list for a few weeks and now this is my first post. :-) I'm planning to build a new VoIP telephone system at our company. It's just a small company with not more than 3-4 employees. The telephone system is not so important for us because each employee has it's own mobile phone. Because our company is a small one, we don't want to/we

OpenVZ with asterisk 13
Dear Mitul, I already told my boss about it, I really want a single box, no virtual, but my boss insist. He said that openvz use less resource then KVM (or other virtual for cloud). I really need a solid analysis to argue with him. On the other hand, dahdi cannot be installed in openvz virtual server. I dont have any experience with openvz at all. Thx, On Tue, Apr 7, 2015 at 8:47 PM, Ikka

libvirt and linux-vserver
Hi, I was just googling around for linux-vserver support in libvirt, however, only found sad ppl complaining about the fact, that there is still no linux-vserver support in libbirt. Despite the fact, that there was some kind of lag in review by more than one person, why isn't it still in? so... merely two years after? I think once the patched would have been applied, ppl would start using it,

OS Virtualization: Linux-VServer and OpenVZ
Greetings, So, anyone on this list using OS Virtualization? I've been using OpenVZ for about 1.5 years. I also have some experience with Linux-VServer. In my experience, if you want to do Linux on Linux, both OpenVZ and Linux-VServer offer native performance, better scalability, and higher density than VMware, Xen or KVM... although I must admit I haven't actually tried KVM yet. OpenVZ variant
Greetings, I was reading the LWN article from today (free to non-subscribers next Thursday). Here's a subscriber link for those who might want to see it now: CentOS and Red Hat - http://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/592723/485ea802859f6c36/ I saw that Xen was mentioned as an area where CentOS went beyond RHEL with CentOS 6... and being that I'm deeply in the OpenVZ community, I thought it

OpenVZ with asterisk 13
I have several large customers (200+ extensions) running on vSphere without issue. Not sure about OpenVZ, thought. 2015-04-07 11:36 GMT-03:00 Mitul Limbani <mitul at enterux.in>: > Show him this freaking thread, or else ask him to prove it otherwise. > > We all here have decades of exp dealing with asterisk. > > Mitul > On 07-Apr-2015 7:27 PM, "Ikka

Recommendations for free virtual server tech and Asterisk?
If you want to use dahdi dummy driver inside asterisk for timer then this is possible with openvz based container virtualization. We have tested vicidial in this mode for 5-10 agents and it worked well. OpenVZ with asterisk 13
Dear all, Is anyone has experience making Asterisk server with virtual server OPEN-VZ (in proxmox 3.4 box) ? My boss want to build a production server with it, and it will have +/- 300 sip user (concurrent call maybe < 150 call) Is it good to go, or not ? I really hope someone who have experience with it willing to share with me... Thanks in advance... Best Regards, Ikka - Jakarta,

Asterisk & OpenVZ
Hi All, I've got debian (etch), openvz and asterisk up and running using the openvz wiki guides. The examples use `apt-get install asterisk` and this will install 1.2.13. Has anyone gotten an VPS to compile the latest versions from source? Also, I'm unsure how the zaptel modules come into play, could use some guidance there as well. Thanks. I want to contribute to the wiki
Greetings, I just signed up on the CentOS Wiki as user ScottDowdle. I'd like to update one page and add a new page... so when a AdminGroup user notices and has the time to do the deed, please allow me the following: 1) Update - http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/BrokenVserver I would like to add an explanation on why some VPSes do not include yum. Virtualisation
I'm building a new server at home to handle most of my internal requirements (mail, news, dns, dhcp, backups being the biggies). I also want it to host a couple of virtual servers which are allowed incoming connections from the internet (mail gateway, web server, ssh server); these are virtual so if a hacker _can_ break in then they're limited as to what they can see. At present the

Check out Proxmox VE... can CentOS improve on this?
Greetings, I'm a big OpenVZ fanboy. I've sent a few emails on this list that proves that... and I'm sure I've annoyed some people... but be that as it may... I would like to draw everyone on this list's attention to Proxmox VE. What is Proxmox VE? Here's a review from the end of June: ProxMox: The high-performance virtualization server for the rest of us

[SOT] Virtualising Asterisk
I know a lot has changed over the past couple of years, and even monthly, and that Asterisk running within a virtualised environment is very happy indeed. If one would only be using SIP/IAX would Xen/KVM be the best solution ? / or perhaps VServer/LXC maybe advantageous due to binary hashing. Your thoughts would be very welcome. -- Thanks, Phil -------------- next part -------------- An HTML
