evaluating NAs in a dataframe
Hi all, How can one evaluate NAs in a numeric dataframe column? For example, I have a dataframe (demo) with a column of numbers and several NAs. If I write demo.df >= 10, numerals will return TRUE or FALSE, but if the value is "NA", "NA" is returned. But if I write demo.df == "NA", it returns as "NA" also. I know that I can remove NAs, but would like

S4 method setClass prototype definition question
Dear list, this is not a problem report -- I would like to ask for advise what the recommended and safe way to perform the following is or what problems might arise in doing it differently. The question is: What is the recommended way of providing a default value in a prototype statement for a derived class for a slot provided from a parent class? How to setup a joystick in Wine
I spent hours the other night trying to re-map my Logitech USB wireless gamepad for playing games in Wine. I added registry keys all over the place with the cryptic X,Y,Z,Rx nonsense but nothing would seem to work. Does anyone know how to do this properly, or is it broken? I'm trying to map the right thumbstick for looking around and left stick for moving in Rune.

I currently already have a "flaw" in my site, in which if you go to mysite.com/tutorials/ID it will bring you to the same place as

Changing the model_path.
Hi, I''m new to RoR, but currently need to make some changes to my site to implement permalinks. Whenever I do a link, I use: category_path(category) and then the to_param permalinks it. The previous piece of code would link you to / categories/CategoryPermalink; the trouble is I don''t want it to be / categories, I just want it to be /PERMALINK. Then I''m getting into

Rendering partials with pagination
I currently have a call to this action, which I''d like to paginate: def get_words @catid = params[:category] @words = Category.find(@catid).words render :partial => "word_display", :collection => @words end As you can see, a word_display partial is rendered for each word. If I add the pagination call (getting the links object), how can I then get

Suggestion for a new server for E1 line
Hi All, I'm trying to identify a new server as a replacement for what our customer actually has (DELL PowerEdge 860). The server will mount the Digium board TE121, we already have, with echo cancel onboard. I need to know if someone could suggest a new server that's compatible with this board. VIA C3 Nehemiah Locks Up
Hello, I've got an EPIA-M series motherboard in a system that has locked up twice under random conditions. Nothing is logged to the console or logs, the system just hangs. The system is installed with CentOS 4.4 and running the 2.6.9-42.0.8.EL i686 kernel. I am aware that older C3 processors had the CMOV problem, but that is resolved in the later boards (procinfo below). I've seen a
