Implementing a VTable in LLVM
Hi all,
I’ve been working on a Java-esque object-oriented language Bolt that targets LLVM IR. I’m agonisingly close to getting a virtual table working, and was hoping one of you could point out the gap in my understanding. I’ve linked the C++ code snippets relevant to the vtable below.
Example IR generated (partially displayed below):

Handling 8GB .txt file in R?
Hi,
I am mediocre at R, maybe 1000 hours experience, but I received an 8GB
dataset and I don't know what to do with it. I have to do extensive analysis
over it for my Honours thesis.
I can't even import it. I've tried;
- Splitting it up using the free csv-splitter-1.1.zip that seems to be
working for everyone else (it doesn't work for me, it just outputs 1 single
line).

Other ways to lm() regression? (non-loop?)
Hi, I'm quite new to R (1 month full time use so far). I have to run loop
regressions VERY often in my work, so I would appreciate some new
methodology that I'm not considering.
#---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
y<-matrix(rnorm(100),ncol=10,nrow=10)
x<-matrix(rnorm(50),ncol=5,nrow=10)

How to make this for() loop memory efficient?
##I have 2 columns of data. The first column is unique "event IDs" that
represent a phone call made to a customer.
###So, if you see 3 entries together in the first column like follows:
matrix(c("call1a","call1a","call1a") )
##then this means that this particular phone call (the first call that's
logged in the data set) was transferred
##between 3

[LLVMdev] LLVM Shared DLL not supported reason
FWIW, I've got a powershell script that builds an exports.def file for
recognizable C functions.
You could adapt it to Python and make it part of the official build if the
LLVM community thinks it will be beneficial to have libLLVM.dll
The script is located here:

Dear Experienced R Practitioners,
I have 4GB .txt data called "dataset.txt" and have attempted to use *ff,
bigmemory, filehash and sqldf *packages to import it, but have had no
success. The readLines output of this data is:

cannot generate tempfile `/tmp/puppet.30616.9'
I have three (out of 90) machines with the error: cannot generate
tempfile `/tmp/puppet.30616.9''
I have plenty of disk and plenty of inodes.
My temp directory is permissioned: drwxrwxrwt 4 root root 20480
2012-05-24 01:33 /tmp
I get these for two puppet items on each row.
The daemon is not running. I run it manually using /usr/sbin/puppetd
--verbose --no-daemonize --onetime

How to empty DB in heroku<http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4820549/how-to-empty-db-in-heroku>
I have a Postgres database on Heroku. It is one of the free beta ones.
Locally, when testing, I often run rake db:drop && rake db:create && rake
db:migrate as a way to reset the database.
However, when I try to run this on Heroku, I get the error:\[code\]Couldn''t

wpa_supplicant and wi
I am using a Netgear MA401 with the wi driver, and am having trouble
using wpa_supplicant to set static WEP keys. I have the wlan_wep.ko

wpa_supplicant.conf looks like this:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=wheel

Very strange function() behaviour.
Hi, R newb here. I've coded a function that inputs N dimensional array(s) [or
class=numeric if it's dim=1] of coefficients and tstats, where
dim(coef_matrix)=dim(tstat_matrix), it will then output a same dimension
matrix of coefficients pasted to tstats in brackets pasted to significance
stars.
If I go straight to the code INSIDE the function, it works 100% as it's
supposed to. The

string to date/time?
Hey All,
Anyone know of a library for parsing "human" dates, like "this friday"
or "2 days ago"? I used to use strtotime in php, but starting from
here;

and doing lots of googling, I haven''t been able to find anything
similar for ruby. I know of javascript solutions to this, but I''d

nsswitch.conf file, I can't even log on as root or any local users
anymore. Kinit seems to initialize fine doing a kinit

[LLVMdev] unsupported GC: shadow-stack when using MCJIT
This is also happening when using the C++ APIs. It looks like an MCJIT and
SetGC interaction.
I'm lost on how to proceed further.
