setpgid() before exec'ing qemu
Hi I am writing a python test suite that uses oz (https://github.com/clalancette/oz) which uses libquestfs. I am simulating a small cloud and have some apps that need to talk to the guests. All works really well until I needed to start another process. So I start a process then "oz" starts up a VM (it uses libquestfs) then when "oz" cleans up it calls

pgup/pgdown in R Graphics Window under Linux
Dear S-users. This should be an easy one: How do I change pages on an X11 graphics device under linux? I thought that the page-up/page-down keys were supposed to do the trick, but the frame (window) seems to be kind of immune to any kind of keyboard input. The only reaction I ever see is that the mouse pointer changes to a "+" when moved into the frame. I issue these commands:

Modifying script generated scaffold output Books/Authors
People, For my little book library db I find the rails script generated stuff fine for most of my needs but there is one thing I couldn''t figure out . . Part of the auto output of app/view/books/edit.rhtml is: <%= start_form_tag :action => ''update'', :id => @book %> <%= render :partial => ''form'' %> <%= submit_tag

who are hieraki authors for manuals.rubyonrails.org
Hi all, Does anybody know anybody who is a hieraki author for manuals.rubyonrails.org? I''ve been waiting for my account to be approved for several months now. I''d really like to contribute to the online manuals, which seem to be lacking in various places, e.g. functional testing for action mailers etc. Or is there some special mechanism for becoming an author that I am not

Proper attribution in Authors@R for the d3.js library by Mike Bostock
I have a couple of packages that use the d3.js library developed (and copyrighted) by Mike Bostock. One package uses it extensively, another only for one function. I use R to piece together parts files containing JavaScript that I have written, which use d3.js functions and eventually the d3 library is called from a temporary web page. To date, I have pointed to Bostock's library in the Rd

Rails Authors
WDVL.com is looking for authors to cover Ruby on Rails. This a new area for us and we don''t have a lot of coverage in this area. We are looking for short concise tutorials on all aspects of RoR, ranging from beginner to advanced. If you are interested please e-mail me at rhein-H4aWS73dXupWk0Htik3J/w@public.gmane.org with some samples of your work and I''ll give you the details.

recipes/categories to books/authors but listing doesn''t work
People, I have gone through the cookbook example: http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/onlamp/2005/01/20/rails.html?page=1 and everything worked fine an a FC4/Postgres setup. I then tried to reproduce this success with something that would be useful to me - a library db using books & authors tables. The author list works but NOT the book list (unless I take line #17 out). I get this message:

Citing Package Contributing Authors
Greetings, I am familiar with the function cite('packageName') which provides the output generated from the DESCRIPTION file. In most cases this is sufficient but I was wondering if there are contributing authors (in addition to the primary) also listed on the CRAN page. Is there a proper way to account for them or are they generally not listed? Regards, -- Charles Determan

R CMD check and DESCRIPTION file with Authors@R only
Section 1.1 of R-exts mentions that the Maintainer and Author fields can be omitted from the DESCRIPTION file if Authors@R is supplied. However, R CMD check does not seem to like this. package.skeleton("foo") desc <- readLines("foo/DESCRIPTION") desc[6] <- "Authors@R: person('Mathew', 'McLean', email = 'name@example.com', role =

Sending bot emails to both Git authors and committers
When committing changes on behalf of other contributors, I've started setting the author in Git to be the change author. I think that's better for attribution than just including "Patch By: username" in the message which is default for arc, especially now that we're finally using Git. However, I've noticed that when the change breaks bots, emails are sent only to the
