Hi. I am currently using EXTLINUX 4.03 in my PC. i wanted to upgrade it to extlinux 5.01. I copied the extlinux binary to my LINUX PC but extlinux binary doesn't work. The isue is the extlinux 5.01 requires GLIBC 2.7 where as the linux GLIBC version i have is 2.5. Please suggest how to run extlinux 5.01 on my linux (2.6.35.6)? Regards, Seetaram

Hi, Today I replaced grub(1) with syslinux on my laptop, after rebooting to syslinux and selecting kernel I got massive freeze along with colorful output to screen - http://i.imgur.com/lFjFc.jpg I think I tried everything, even doing esc and writing after boot: /bzImage-3.1.0, after enter I had the same freeze with the same screen artefacts. ... and this is pretty much the first version of 2.20 which can be considered likely to actually work, except for the Win32 installer. The big news in this prerelease, by far, is EXTLINUX. I'm also hacking on a "simple menu system" as a com32 module; basically a hack to re-parse the config file and display a menu of its label statements. Don't know when that'll be ready

I just tried to boot extlinux off of /dev/sdb and use the option localboot 0x80. I was hoping to see syslinux for the second time as the system loaded the master boot rec from /dev/sda. Why is this option only in pxelinux and isolinux? Nicholas A. Schembri State College PA USA
