Going from Coda Files to R2WinBUGS
I'm currently using JAGS as my Bayesian program of choice due to
working off of an older mac running OSX. I'd like to utilize some of
the functions from R2WinBUGS, however. As such, I'm attempting to
write something to go from coda output dumped by JAGS into the bugs
object format - I've looked for functions that will convert from an
mcmc object to a bugs object, but

AW: Machines not disappearing from browse list
I've exactly the same problem. My config looks similar to yours: 1 samba as
wins server (wins support=yes" on one segment, 1 samba as "wins server
client" (wins server = xxx). The "wins server client" never discards
machines from segment 1. I looked at the browse.dat and the wins.dat on the
server on segment 1. There are no entries of the shutdowned maschines. Only

Machines not disappearing from browse list
Hello,
we are using "samba-2.0.6" (running on linux-2.2.14 machine). On our
client machines we use "Windows 9x". There are 2 network segments:
Segment 1 (192.168.1.0):
- 13 Win95 client machines
- 1 samba-2.0.6 server ("fsa01") which is WINS, DMB and LMB in its
network segment (192.168.1.0). This samba is also the login server for
our Win9x clients.

R2WinBUGS: Data loading error

I am trying to use R2WinBUGS but I get the following error message in WinBUGS

R check mis-identifying Illumina data file format as executable and other thoughts.
This is somewhat a summary/continuation of an R bug report:
Illumina's cluster definition files (*.egt) are one of the proprietary and
undocumented file formats used by their GenomeStudio line of products for
genomic studies.

Re: util-linux compromised
I just received the following letter:
Date: Sun, 24 Jan 1999 04:01:55 -0500 (EST)
From: John Stange <building@cs.umd.edu>
Subject: util-linux compromised?
I grabbed util-linux-2.9g yesterday from win.tue.nl, and discovered a
section of login.c that appears to send the host and uid of the user to a
hotmail address. I imagine this isn't a standard feature. :>

Geweke Diagnostic in CODA package
Hi all:
The CODA package provides Geweke Diagnostic method for convergence
checking. The geweke.diag in CODA returns Z-score value but not give a
conclustion that it is convergence or not. So I'd like to know how
small/big the magnitude of Z-score is corresponding to the convergence of
a chain. That is, Doese Z-score smaller or more than *threshold *determine
the convergence? If so, how big

R-beta: CODA package for R
I have just uploaded the R port of the CODA (Convergence Diagnostics
and Output Analysis) package to CRAN. This is a suite of functions
for analyzing the output of Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulations and
diagnosing lack of convergence of the simulated output. It is designed
to work with (but is not necessarily limited to) the BUGS program:

load coda in BRugs to perfor diagnostics
Dear all,
I just wrote a script to have each of my three mcmc chins running on a
different computer core to improve computation speed. To do it I use the
function sfLapply from the package snowfall.
Before using parallell computation, I did my diagnostic analyses just after
the model updating, but now I have to save the coda before.
Using the CODA package, it is possible to load the outputs in a

lmer, mcmcsamp, coda, HPDinterval
Hi,
I've got a linear mixed model created using lmer:
A6mlm <- lmer(Score ~ division + (1|school), data=Age6m)
(To those of you to whom this model looks familiar, thanks for your patience
with this & my other questions.) Anyway, I was trying this to look at the
significance of my fixed effects:
A6post <- mcmcsamp(A6mlm, 50000)
library(coda)
HPDinterval(A6post)
..but I got this

How do you calculate DIC from coda files (R2WinBUGS)?
I tried calculating pD as 1/2 variance of the deviance, but I got hugely
inflated numbers.
Does anybody know how to calculate pD from the coda files output from
R2WinBUGS?
By the way, 'set DIC' is greyed out for some reason within WinBUGS, so I
can't monitor DIC.
