Fwd: Re: Poisson GLM using non-integer response/predictors?
Hi, Use offset variables if count occurrences of an event and you want to model the observation time. glm(count ~ predictors + offset(log(observation_time)), family=poisson) If you want to compare durations, look at library(survival), ?coxph If tnoise_sqrt is the square root of tourist noise, your example seems incorrect, because it is a predictor, not the dependent variable tnoise_sqrt ~

Spatial AND Temporal Dependency with lme, or other function?
Hi, I've got a new dataset which I don't know how to analyze with R. My knowledge about R is limited for this kind of problem. I've tried to find a solution with some spatio temporel packages and lme/lmer functions, but didn't find any similar example. I've got 10 locations on a coast on which the number of walrus was noted. I've got a distance measure between each

doing zero inflated glmm for count data with fmr
Hello R users, Doing My PhD I collected count data which I believe is zero inflated. I have run a statistical model with lmer and family=poisson and got summary(model)@sigma=1 so I believe there is no overdispertion. I would like to use the fmr function from the 'gnlm' library but I just cannot figure out from the examples in the help page and some forums out there how to convert the lmer

I've helped a lot of people on the mailing lists and on IRC #asterisk. and wanted to let people know that I will be in Europe between May 19 and June 21. Stockholm (VON 2005), Brussels (holiday/vacation), Amsterdam (holiday/vacation), and Madrid (Astricon). There are several weeks during my trip that I have no current plans for and may add other cities to my itinerary. I'm looking

Urgent - I really need some help lme4 model avg Estimates
Hello all, If someone could take a little time to help me then I would be very grateful. I studied piping plovers last summer. I watched each chick within a brood for 5 minutes and recorded behaviour, habitat use and foraging rate. There were two Sites, the first with 4 broods and the second with 3 broods. http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n4511178/Table_PP_Maslo_et_al.png As the data within a

I have an interesting lme - problem. The data is part of the Master Thesis of my friend, and she had some problems analysing this data, until one of her Jurors proposed to use linear mixed-effect models. I'm trying to help her since she has no experience with R. I'm very used to R but have very few experience with lme. The group calls of one species of parrot were recorded at many

I noticed a new upstream kernel was released yesterday and now wondered how long until the corresponding version of the centosplus kernels are updated? https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2007-0705.html -- Said one park ranger, 'There is considerable overlap between the intelligence of the smartest bears and the dumbest tourists.' Florian, Sorry you haven't heard anything but we've recently decided not to offer this product out side of Holland. If your still interested we have another product called ISDN-Flex that provides SIP/H.323 PSTN access inbound/outbound but you need to be connected on on one of our IP or MetroLan products so we can guarantee the QoS. Is there an easy way to specify the proper device location for the kickstart configuration file if it is on a USB flash or USB floppy drive? Depending on the hard disk configuration they might by /dev/sda, /dev/sdb, etc. On SuSE'autoyast instalattions, the system searches all available devices for an ``info'' configuration file. auth, partially resolved
Hello people, After a lot of wading through the dovecot documentation (which btw, is excellent !, everything lies under "dovecot/doc/wiki"), I managed to authenticate a couple of accounts. For starters, I want dovecot to work as an imap/imaps box and nothing else. So , I went ahead and created a "passwd" file with two users. One user being my name (spyros) and plaintext
