Hello, I have been having problems using kernels since 2.6.9-34.0.2. After updating to a new kernel, my system runs, I'm guessing, 6 - 8 hours fine, then becomes unresponsive. For example, I installed the latest kernel the other evening, reboot for the changes and by morning, the system appears to be locked up. Typing 'yum update' takes about 10 minutes to execute. OK, So how can we help getting CentOS 6.1 released? This is a "Community" project. I'm not a programmer, IT person but I do ask a lot of help from this list. What do we need to do or how can the 'average person' help? Can you send us some files to test? What? I'd like to help but don't know how. Eddie

I would like to upgrade my system to a 64 bit machine. I'd like to find a bare bones platform to build on. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on this as it is a home system. I looked on the CentOS sponsor page but only saw hosting services. I haven't kept up with hardware in years so I'm dumber than dirt on what's out there. I would prefer a desktop so I can stack it.

Hello, I have been using mondorescue to backup to dvd for several months now without any problems. Since upgrading to Centos 4.4, I now receive a few errors. The errors are for files in /var/named/chroot/proc. I guess these files change so when I do a differntial backup they aren't there and result in errors. Just did an in-place update from 6.1 to 6.2 on my eeepc 901 (Atom CPU). during boot, (if I hit ESC to see the boot messages) it says "starging udev" then nothing else for a few seconds, then a huge register dump scrolls by. it's too big to see the beginning of it. If I boot from the prior kernel and look in /var/log/messages, I don't see any evidence of the failed boot.
