Removed bind 9.8 installed bind 9.9 now named will not start with samba include statement: dlz_bind9_9.so incorrect version 2 should be 1!?
I removed the centos bind build and installed bind 9.9.3 from ISC source,
and went to /usr/local/samba/private/named.conf and changed the line from
bind 9.8 to bind 9.9 and now I get this error and named will not start with
the include line for samba in /etc/named.conf:
get: "dlz_dlopen: incorrect version 2 should be 1 in
'/usr/local/samba/lib/bind9/dlz_bind9_9.so'"

Samba4 successful deployment
I've just installed samba4 beta 7 with defaults and everything went OK.
As I download bind9.9.1 tarball and compiled it I had to follow steve's

Samba4: Incorrect version of dlz_bind9.so
Hi list!
I follow the Samba 4 HOWTO on Ubuntu 10.04,
git ok
make ok
make install ok
make ok (needed for provision to work, even though i use the installed provision)
/usr/local/samba/sbin/provision --realm=samdom.example.com --domain=SAMDOM --adminpass=SOMEPASSWORD --server-role='domain controller' ok
added "domain samdom.example.com" to resolv.conf

Bind9 AD SDLZ driver failed to load
I installed Bind9 on a new ubuntu 13.04 server using
apt-get install bind9
and am trying to integrate AD into it. Bind starts fine and will resolve my
domain and computer names, but when I add the line
include "/usr/local/samba/private/named.conf"
into /etc/bind/named.conf, Bind9 fails to start. I have edited that file
to ensure the correct line is included for Bind 9.9, and I am not

bind9 won't run
I am working on my second Ubuntu 16.04.1LTS running Samba 4.5.0 with
Bind9_DLZ.
I have one machine just like this one. Same hardware, same software
setup. First machine is working fine.
At the moment this (second) machine is not joined to the other (until I
get Bind running.)
I have searched log complaints. Compared settings between the two
machines and despite bind running on the first one,

bind9 dlopen/dlz problems
Hi,
I'm trying to replace my current samba4/bind setup with Tridge's new
DLZ bind method (s. http://blog.tridgell.net/?p=122).
Instructions about how to set this up seem a little rare right now,
and
I'm not even sure wether this is supposed to work at all in its
current
state (but I'll give it a try anyway :-)
What I found so far: In order to use the new dlopen DLZ you'll

Switching to Bind from Samba Internal
Rowland,
In a multi DC environment must all DC's run Bind that serve DNS? Is
it sufficient to just have the SOA run Bind? Thanks.

[PATCH 1/2] disp: activate dual link TMDS links only when possible
From: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke at hauke-m.de>
Without this patch a pixel clock rate above 165 MHz on a TMDS link is
assumed to be dual link. This is true for DVI, but not for HDMI. HDMI
supports no dual link, but it supports pixel clock rates above 165 MHz.
Only activate Dual Link mode when it is actual possible.

Issues with bind9 dlz
Hi Rowland,
Thank you.
I think the 5 zones maybe a parsing issues somewhere. Also, the realms are
in capital, must have been a typo.
The UFW has been disabled and selinux is in a disbaled state
/etc/bind/named.conf.options has
options {
directory "/var/cache/bind";
// If there is a firewall between you and nameservers you want

This is a production machine, so I would rather stick with the
downgrade until you've looked into the issue. I went home late
yesterday. ;)
