compressed file VFS
Hallo, we have a clinical system that generate lot of files that once written are never changed. This file consume lot of disk and tape space*, so my idea was to compress this files. The problem is that it can happen, that the users have to open this files later. Is there a VFS module for samba that show gzipped** read only files as if they were standard files ? Samba4 openchange status
I strongly and completely disagree with statement that is "IMHO the need for openchange is disappearing. " It is the only and one project/soft providing Exchange functionality on Linux platform. 21.04.2016 17:24, Neil Price пишет: > On 21/04/2016 09:53, Mueller wrote: >> Hallo to all, >> >> does anyone know about the status of openchange ? >> It sems to

Samba-AD-DC package question . . .
I have an existing Samba-AD-DC built from Inverse packages, v.4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1 I have OpenChangeServer installed on that machine, v.2.4-zentyal6 When I start OpenChange, it "shuts down" my Samba-AD-DC so that no one can login. To troubleshoot my problem, I've built a "new" Samba-AD-DC from the same Inverse packages, but I see a slight difference in the installed

RPC Server is unavailable . . .
Ubuntu 14.04, Samba 4.1.6 I'm having trouble connecting Windows clients to the domain. "The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "smbdomain": The RPC server is unavailable." When you attempt to join the domain, it finds it by name immediately and asks for username/password, after which it gives the error above. I haven't found documentation on

Question re kerberos . . .
I've used the Samba AD DC HOWTO <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO> to install Samba 4 as an Active Directory/Domain Controller. I've successfully configured the domain/realm and DNS (as far as I can tell) and worked my way through Testing Your Samba Domain Controller <https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO#Testing_Your_Samba_Domain_Controller>

look : winbind depends on samba (= 2:4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1); however: >2:4.1.18+dfsg-3~inverse1 so mixed setup of ubuntu with inverse packages of samba. You need to use the inverse packages of samba to keep openchange working. I suggest you set your package pinning. OR ! remove the inverse : winbind version and install the ubuntu version. samba (via openchange) panic when checking username in outlook
Hi all I installed Sogo + OpenChange following the user guides (http://www.sogo.nu/downloads/documentation.html), on a CentOS6. The only difference from the official way is I have a 4.1.7 Samba I built using Sogo specfile, where I added the "--enable-debug" "./configure" option: http://pastebin.com/P129yhu2 All but the samba4 RPM is from the Sogo repository. How do you join a Linux mailserver to a Samba domain?
SOGo/Openchange is not willing i f it is not holding the fsmo roles. And by the way in an multiple DC replicating environment you can kill your domain on the fly even with a real "Exchange-Server" if you are not carefull enough. So the only way to make OPenchange live in your domain ist o join it as dc. And status of development as far as I know this is hard to do. Or you manage to

I will appriciate it if anyone can share their setups with me so I can estimate what will be the best way forward. The plan so far. Run Samba4 as a file server. (this is working in a test enviroment) Run Samba4 as a DC with Active Directory
