Print Jobs stuck in queue
Hi, I have a RedHat7.3 distro running Samba-2.2.3a. I've never had this problem before 2.2.x versions of samba. I'm using domain security and sharing 2 printers, an HP4050 and Ricoh. Everyone can print fine except that, seemingly randomly, printjobs end up in the queue as paused (according to winXPpro and Win98). Nobody can unpause or delete them. The only way to remove them is to

Error when trying to print with point and print installed drivers
I have an Ubuntu Sever 9.10 setup running Samba as a PDC for a bunch of Windows clients. Everything is functioning perfectly except for the point and print delivery of printer drivers. I have tested this with Ubuntu 9.10's Samba (3.4.0) and two of the Debian Samba packages (3.4.3 and 3.4.5). All seem to demonstrate the same problem. *What works:* Adding a printer and manually installing the

cups printer oddity
Dear list, in CUPS, I have to absolutely identical printers configured (I believe), except for the printer name and the hostname it connects to. I use cupsaddsmb on them (same PPD). When I try to connect to the printer prn-1101-001-d110-1, it works; for prn-1101-001-d111-1, it does not. I have narrowed this down to the following difference in the output of rpcclient -c enumprinters:

Installation and management of printer drivers from windows 7 clients (printers and faxes missing!)
Hello there. I have a network with 35 new Windows 7 (64 bit) PCs that should connect to printers via a cups/samba server. I want them to use their own windows drivers, and I want these to be installed automatically from print$ when they first connect. I'm trying to install the drivers from the clients as described here:

Bug#614101: Debian 6.0 amd64 doesn't boot with Xen on Toshiba u300-13u
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 Version: 4.0.1-2 Either Xen, or the Dom0 kernel (I guess you know better) spits out error messages about ata4 containing "status: { DRDY ERR }" (similar error can be found googling DRDY ERR). I'm not putting the whole error message here because I couldn't copy-paste the message at the booting stage. I'm adding the autoconfigured menu

Odd file locking issue with one of our SMB servers....
Samba version: 3.6.15 on openSUSE 12.2. We?ve got a series of file shares exported from one of our storage systems. Periodically, we?ve a user from our accounting department that is getting errors from Excel that the file she?s trying to open is opened by someone else (it isn?t) and prompts her to either open it as read-only, or to cancel the open operation. When this occurs, she hits cancel,

Samba 4, CUPS, and one slow printer
I'm running CentOS 6.5, cups-1.4.2-50, and sernet-samba-4.1.4-7. I have five Ricoh copiers configured as printers using RAW queues in CUPS. Samba is configured as an Active Directory domain controller. I followed the "Samba as a print server" guide in the wiki. The [global] section contains load printers = yes. The [printers] section contains the following: path =

"getpeername failed" error when signed communications policy enabled
Hi, I'm looking for help with an issue that we are seeing with the following configuration: We are using Samba (3.5.12-72.fc15) to share out CUPS printers from a Fedora 15 machine. However, a requirement of the system is that these printers are not directly visible from client systems (Windows 7 SP1 32-bit), so instead we are sharing them out from a Windows print server (Windows 2008 R2

I've an OpenSuSE based server installed at work that uses Samba to share out the prrinters for our users on the AD that will be replacing our aging Windows 2000 print server. I'm in the process of getting the printer drivers installed for Windows clients. At present, I'm installing the drivers for the RICOH Aficio we have. When I run the following command:?

I've set up a Samba/CUPS printer system for our school and I've got a problem - has anyone got any advice on this please? I've got it going so that all windows hosts can connect

Debug Samba/CUPS printing
Hi all, I am currently inspecting a problem with Windows7 / Samba / CUPS printing. On one printer of our company the printjobs are getting heavily delayed. The jobs are started from Windows 7 Workstations. Tcpdump seems to show, that the jobs are handed through from Windows 7 Client -> Samba server -> CUPS server -> printer and no packets seem to bypass those stages. (e.g. no direct
