windows 7 64 bit xerox print drivers
Samba 3.4.7 Ubuntu 10.04 Has anyone out there got Xerox 64 bit drivers working in a point and print samba set up? And if so, which Xerox drivers? And which method of driver installation? I'm at a complete loss. We currently have an environment with 500 + desktops and a couple dozen Xerox workgroup docucolor MFPs that are running fine now with XP clients and a Samba print server. We're

3.0.11 <-> print driver with extensions (for ex Xerox-Phaser7700)
Hi Jerry et al, I upgraded a while ago and everything looks fine at the first glance ;-) Though I discovered a huge problem with drivers that have some extended features/cards like the Xerox-Phaser7700. The driver installs just fine on the server but the extensions are not visible afterwards. Far more annoying: Clients can not install the driver, they get the 'no driver on server for queue

Printing problem with Samba, XP, and Xerox Printer
Hello everyone, I am having a problem getting Windows XP clients to print to a Xerox DataCenter 440 using Samba as the print server running on Red Hat Linux 7.2. I have installed the driver once and it worked fine. I then tried to add a second XP client, and while it appears to install and work, nothing comes out of the printer. It even seems to disappear at the print server. Any ideas how I

strange issue with xerox printer: unable to configure driver
Hello list. I've a strange issue with a samba 3.4.3 print server. Everything is fine with most printers, meaning drivers are assigned on server side and automatically distributed to the clients as expected. However, I fail to configure a Xerox document center 7435 the same way. When I attempt to assign a driver to the printer, from a windows client with admin privileges, I get an

winxp + sp3 = samba-shared printer hangs the system
hi, since I upgraded some winxp-pro sp2 client to sp3, my samba-shared printers are no-longer usable :-/ With sp3, if I run notepad and choose the men? File-Print, the "print" window hangs and does not show any printer for about 1 minute! The same thing happens when I click on the men? Start-settings-Printer and faxes. With sp2, everything works correctly and I can browse all my

Using WMI Classes to join worksation to domain
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I have been working on a Kix script to automatically change the workstation name and join the workstation to the domain. I have written most of the script (which works quite nicely) except the joining to the domain part. I have been using WMI classes to change the worksation name, and was hoping to do the same with the domain join. The

Xerox Workcentre pro 5740 PCL6 driver installation fails
Hi All, Anyone got this working with Samba? (3.5.4) I'm trying to install the driver, it copies across OK but then says "An unexpected error occurred in the print driver. Close the current driver window and retry the operation. 074:000:0061" Retrying doesn't help... The PS driver installs, but this lacks ALL of the options that come with the printer. Any help appreciated.

adding printers from netlogon script
I don't know the final answer BUT if you have something simmilar to a cyber-cafe LAN (I mean, users use all the computers, and maybe some users come back to login with the same name) then you have to install a printer only once in a computer, loging as the administrator and installing drivers. Then what users will have to do is JUST add the printer without installing. I know that it's

Samba-Cups: all works except browsing when printer is not defined in smb.conf
Cups 1.2.7 Debian Etch with Samba 3.0.24 Clients: WinXP SP3 (with Firewall completely off for testing) When I define a printer specifically in smb.conf, they show up as shared printers in WinXP. But when I follow the normal way (see below) to load all from cups they don't. I followed mainly the latest SAMBA-HOWTO (chapter 21-22) The only error I see in log.smbd when accessing the

Is samba FIPS compliant ? Can it be build with openssl ?
Thanks for the quick reply Jeremy. We have other FIPS compliant libraries, which check for, and ensure the proper FIPS compliant algorithms are used.
