Samba works properly and is using the LDAP backend, which is integrated with Kerberos, GSSAPI, etc... Abount Windows Seven... I changed the registry as recommended Samba wiki, applied the hotfix to not give the DNS error

Hi Louis, I installed the acl and edited resolv.conf as you suggested, but the error persist, unfortunately. This weekend I'll take a snapshot of the working DC and try to update Debian and Samba. Yeah, i also agree in this. Joining with a new server is also a good option. And if you do that, use samba 4.11/4.12 from my repo. Or, if you stayed in Debian official, 4.9.5 (for buster) If you using a "minimal" installed server with only samba and needed software, then its also and option, NOTE, more RISKY, to upgrade to debian testing and use 4.11.5 official. Hi folks, I am in the process of getting rsyslog 5.8.2 to work on CentOS 5.6 (both 64 and 32 bit). All that is left is getting SELinux to work with it. Has anybody out there gone through the process of working this out and can provide a policy file? In fact it looks now a lot better than the 'ldap filter' one than was deprecated with samba 3.0.20... Greetings All. First let me introduce my situation Machine1: Pdc Samba + OpenLDAP(master) Machine2: Bdc Samba + OpenLDAP(slave) LDAP stores Samba and POSIX information for each user. Case1: I login to Machine1 and invoke smbpasswd. I change my passwords (samba and posix without any problem).
