Too many open files when using clearcase
FYI: I'm using samba 2.0.6 for clearcase interoperation between Unix and NT, and while it works great 99% of the time, I run into a problem whenever I do a complete build on an NT system, which involves compiling ~1500 files. The first 1100 or so are compiled correctly, but then the following errors show up on the NT box: The system cannot open the device or file specified. And the

Failed to set socket option problems Samba 2.0.6/Solaris 7
I am seeing the following errors under Samba 2.0.6/Solarisy 7. I saw discussions of this on the Samba list but couldn't find any resolution. I saw the following message from Jeremy Allison > Message-ID: <387B949C.B499EC9C@valinux.com> > Date: Tue, 11 Jan 2000 12:37:48 -0800 > From: Jeremy Allison <jeremy@valinux.com> > Subject: Re: Error when

Unable to join domain: FAIDHC01SDCG0402
Hi. I am trying to configure Samba in Domain security mode. I am on a Sun box running Solaris 9 and Samba 3.0.23. A computer account for this Unix Box is configured in the AD Domain (FAFIDDOM) but I am having issues running net rpc join. I am not planning to use winbind as the samba shares that I want to create are going to be used by ClearCase (Rational Configuration Management Tool). ClearCase

Help with compile on HP-UX 11.0
I'm having quite a bit of trouble with 2.2.7a and HP-UX 11.0. I've attempted to compile (configure && make) with aCC (aCC: HP ANSI C++ B3910B A.03.13), and gcc versions 2.95.1, and 3.2. (A few others as well, but that's not, perhaps, relevant here.) Let's assume I'm using gcc 2.95.1. The first configure error I see in config.log is: In file included from

clearcase and samba
FYI:, I'm fairly new to samba (a couple of months now), and have experimented - unsuccessfully - with getting it to work with clearcase. Does anyone have a how-to, or a list of gotcha's for setting up clearcase with samba? Thanks in advance for any information you can send me. Ozzie,

smbd daemon crash when connect to shared folder
Hi All, I've installed and configured Samba 3.5.11 on a Solaris 8 machine. I was able to join it to the 2008 R2 AD. However, its smbd daemon is crashed everytime I connect to its shared folder from the windows machine, so I'm not able to connect to its shared folders. Below is its log from smb.log file. Is there anyone has any idea what cause the problem? I appreciate very much Regards,
