Constructing titles from list of expressions
Hello! I have the following problem: I have a function to construct three surfaceplots with a marker for an optimum, each of the plots has as title paste("Estimated ",pred.var.lab," for ",var.lab[1]," vs. ",var.lab[2],sep="") with different var.lab[1,2] each time. My problem is now that I need to allow for plotmath expressions in the variables pred.var.lab

plotting two variables with a third used for color
I have a problem where I have two columns of data that I can simply plot using: plot(wV[0:15,3],wY[0:15,3]). This produces my desired plot. Now, say I have a third variable that I would like to introduce and use that variable to set different colors in the plot In this case, say I wanted values greater than 0 to be "blue" and values less than 0 to be "red" Basically, my

Three-dimensional contingency table
Hi, I am trying to assemble a three-way contingency table examining the presence/absence of mussels, water depth (Depth1 and Depth 2) and water velocity (Flow vs. No Flow). I have written the following code listed below; however, when run the glm I get the following message, "Error in model.frame.default(formula = Count ~ MP + wd + wv, drop.unused.levels = TRUE) : variable lengths differ

[Fwd: Re: Unable to fix corrupt directories with fsck.ocfs2]
Robin, To me, anyone else includes the kernel of the current node. Well, if it is unclear the man page should be revised. Also a big warning message on ocfs2.fsck would be nice, after all we all make mistakes. But this is only my two cents. Running fsck on any journaled filesystem will replay the journal. This will cause corruption if the filesystem is mounted read/write, even if the

OT dovecot w/postfix, mysql , postfix does unnecessary lookups
I know this unnecessary lookups question is really a postfix one, but I'm curious if anyone else sees the behaviour of postfix continuing looking up users after it clearly have got its answer that it is "not a local domain" response. (this msg is an extract from what I sent to WV some time ago, with him showing absolutely no interest, I got bored tonight so thought I'd throw

JDataFrame API
Tom, this may be good for embedding small data sets, but for practical purposes is doesn't seem like the most efficient solution. Since you didn't provide any code, I built a test case using the build-in Java JSON API to build a medium-sized dataset (1e6 rows) and read it in just to get a ballpark (see https://gist.github.com/s-u/4efb284e3c15c6a2db16 # generate: time java -cp

JDataFrame API
Hi Folks, If you need to send data from Java to R you may consider using the JDataFrame API -- which is used to convert data into JSON which then can be converted into a data frame in R. Here's the project page: https://coherentlogic.com/middleware-development/jdataframe/ and here's a partial example which demonstrates what the API looks like: String result = new JDataFrameBuilder()

The immediate future
Hello all: I am very much enjoying reading this list. It's great to see discussion (mostly readable by non-vorbis-developer types) on the potential of vorbis and OGG in general. But I'd like to ask about the immediate future. I am very keen to adopt OGG vorbis for a number of uses, but I am awaiting a few things. And I do not wish to pester and hassle those hard at work to make this

Freeamp output plug-in
Hello: I don't usually post requests like this to mailing lists, but I've just about run out of other options. The vorbis.org and vorbis.com sites both make mention of a beta vorbis output plug-in for freeamp, but I'm blowed if I can find it anywhere. It's definitely not in the vorbis.com download section (unless it's been placed their within the last 24 hours or so), and

converting .doc to html
Anyone got a preferred program or package for this? I'd like a *good* one, and Word or OO.o's save as html in no way qualifies as other than amateur crap. So far, with a little googling, I've found the wv package. wvHtml works, but I don't like the output - it insists on <div>, and on &rhquo instead of plain, simple ". mark "what, ask for an opinion in

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
So, strangely, I have two _identical_ dualproc xeon mobos (same bios/ipmi versions, they even share an enclosure, one is right side, other is left), each with different cpu/memory: Using 4.9.13 with vcpu limited to 4, early in the boot process, the one that _was_ booting before setting the xen vcpu args says: "[ 7.060720] smpboot: Max logical packages: 2", and the other one says

interesting problem update
The problem I was experiencing is still occurring, and it is getting worse. There are several names that Festival "gets stuck on". I don't know if it is a Festival problem or an Asterisk problem. The scenario, a call comes in goes through the dialplan (shown below in original message), and either reads the value ${FULLNAME}, but then hangs. It doesn't go to the next command
