Roaming profiles shared between WinXP and Win7
Hi there I am setting up a PDC with Centos 5 + Samba 3.5.4 + Openldap with Roaming profiles using kixstart tools to mount shared folder and modifing some registry entries on windows workstations, The Roaming profiles works fine between Win2000 and WinXP. but when I tried to join a Win7 or Vista workstations i get mixed errors. Sometimes the profiles loads sometimes not, or loads badly

Samba 4 on Production
We're involved in a project that the requirements could be satisfied with both samba3 and 4. Anyway I am testing what can be done with Samba4 and after following the tutorial published in the official wiki, I was able to create my test domain, and join WinXP and Win7 machines to it without a problem. migrating from samba3+openldap+autofs to samba4 AD DC?
Any suggestions as to folks who have written fairly concise how-tos'? Much of what I've found so far is pretty vague. Also if moving to AD DC model, strategies for syncing with OpenLDAP... Fail to join a Windows 2008 R2 to a Samba+LDAP PDC version 3.5.4

Hello, i have question about samba3 migration. I have 2 distincts sites whith samba3 PDC+OpenLDAP running on each site. On Site1, the machines accounts are specifics, same for the Users and Groups except 1 group that is common with Site2 (The Teachers). Today, each site is independant, Now, i would like a create a new domain Samba4 AD whith all machines and users from site1 and site2 together.

We also moved from Samba3/ldap to AD. On the servers we also only use Linux. We had no problem with the move. our mailserver is also cyrus with postfix and also SOGo. Everything works no problems at all. The migration needs to be planned carefully but it is worth the effort. You can still use lam with AD we also use it. Regards Christian Am 19. migrating thousands of users to openldap in centos!
List, I have 15 Tru64 Database Servers in different places all over my country, I also have thousands of users in all this servers, Now it's really a pain to administrate all this accounts in all servers, so I decided to install one CentOS server with openldap.
