bit per bit copy! ext3
I have a flash memory stick that is formated with ext3 file system. NOw, there is an application on it that I would like to copy to another memory stick. I can copy it, but when I do so, that application does not work properly (it won't start - boot problem???). Is there a tool that can copy an entire content from one flash stick to another? Thanks!!! -------------- next part --------------

APC BR1500LCD
Hi gang, I have the APC BR1500LCD [1] and would like to know if NUT can handle it. The compatibility list [2] does not show it but I thought that perhaps it would fit in as some other unit. Does anyone else have this unit? [1] http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BR1500LCD [2] http://www.networkupstools.org/compat/stable.html -- /jm

They fire ignoring the timer value, as if the timer was set to 0. I'm using the OpenFiler distribution, patched to the latest and greatest. upsmon 2.2.2 When I pull the power plug, I see the text "Im In Battery" instantly, instead

Thanks. # ./usbhid-ups

Is there a way to cache a file system listing?
I have a filesystem that has roughly ~600,000 files on it and every time a new client rsyncs this tree (after 10-20 minutes when the cache has expired) then it takes 5-10 minutes to re-traverse the tree during a new rsync. Is there a way, other than running find /path every minute or so, to keep the listing in memory so the rsyncs would run much faster?

indexing mostly-binary documents (.ppt)
Here''s an interesting problem: In my app, we are indexing various types of documents, including microsoft powerpoint. Powerpoint documents are mostly binary, but have a bunch of text (all of the text in the document?) as well. My thinking is that the binary will never get searched for, and the proper text will be indexed and queried as expected, so the indexed binary will never

Samba vs. Windows : significant difference in timestamp handling ?
Hi there, i still have a weird problem with Powerpoint an Excel files stored on a Samba share. Only read on if you -use a samba share as MULTI-user file repository (no force_user etc.) -where multiple, different users share files in common directories -the modification time of a file is of any relevance to you. (seems like lots of folks don?t bother access rights or keep their information
