windows 7 64 bit xerox print drivers
Dear Greg,
At last I saw your post : I confirm it still does not work and I am glad I am not the only one to say it!
I recently reported a bug there : https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8438
No answer at all so far, as if printing support for 7 was not that important for samba...
Coming from the linux world I am not really familiar with the solution you gave : would it be possible for

Windows XP and Samba 2.2.7a Print drivers--they upload fine, but driver list for printers is emtpy.
I am logged on as a domain admin and printer admin.
I have created and assigned the correct rights to /srv/printers and have
created W32X86 and WIN40 subdirectories. I was able to go into server
properties and upload all the necessary drivers. When I right click on the
printer and say "No." to "Printer driver not installed, do you want to
install the driver now?" the drivers

Installing printer drivers
Hi,
I'm trying to copy printer driver files to the server in a way that workstations can
install from the server just by right-clicking on the printer icon and choosing
"Install".
I created the [printers] share and created the W32X86, etc directories. In XP I
right-clicked on the printer icon and installed the drivers. It looked like it
worked. Looking at it from the linux side,

Has anyone out there got Xerox 64 bit drivers working in a point and print
samba set up? And if so, which Xerox drivers? And which method of driver
installation?
I'm at a complete loss. We currently have an environment with 500 + desktops
and a couple dozen Xerox workgroup docucolor MFPs that are running fine now
with XP clients and a Samba print server. We're

Can only print to the default printer
I am not sure if I am experiencing a WINE bug (I have looked through the bug reports but can't see this particular problem mentioned) or if this is a current limitation of WINE...
I am using 64-bit Sabayon Linux (multilib) 2.6.36-sabayon kernel with CUPS 1.4.4-r2 and 32-bit WINE 1.3.4.
I have several printers configured in CUPS. With native Linux applications I can select from each

Problem Uploading Printer Drivers from XP
I am having problems uploading printer drivers from my WinXP workstation. I
can use my Win2K workstation just fine, but when I try to use the exact same
user ID and access the exact same printer, the New Driver... button on the
XP printer dialog is disabled. The only thing I can think of is permissions
on the client side (since it is the same user ID being used). I tried

Samba and W2K printer issues
I posted this query a couple of days ago and received no responses.
SInce that time, some other info has come to light that I thought would
be useful to helping to solve this porblem.
My network consists of a firewall machine networked with a SuSE 7.2
workstation and a Windows 2000 workstation. My smb.conf file is below:

Cups printers autoloading and windows drivers
Hai,
A few basic steps to setup a dedicated print server with samba 4 and cups.
I used debian Jessie in this case with sernet samba 4.2.3
I had some problems with 4.1.17 on debian, messed up some printernames after driver uploads when i corrected them after.
My steps.
1) Install a normal samba4 member server.
2) setup your printers in cups and let them print to the 9100 port.

one printer doesn't print under samba
I have a problem I hope someone can help with.
I have TLS 6.0 set up to provide print services to Win98 clients using
samba. There are two printers, an HP LaserJet 4050 and an HP DeskJet 950C,
both attached to separate JetDirect 170 print servers. The HP4050 works
wonderfully, no problems at all. The 950C doesn't work. The printer is
available when browsing and can be installed on the

Re: Different printer drivers ...
Greetings,
I've now received private e-mail saying that others have seen this problem,
sent e-mail to this list and received no answers. That ultimately, they
ended up altering their Windows clients to use LPR instead of Samba.
Is this really something that a genuine MS Windows server can handle and
Samba cannot?
Does anybody know when these other drivers stopped working well and what

W9x doesn't download printer drivers
My W9x clients cannot download printer driver from samba 3.0.2rc1 with
cups 1.1.17, while w2k clients do.
The W9x clients open the Add Printer Wizard, connect to print$ share,
request the ADOBEPS4.DRV file, but they stop at the beginning of the
download.
Permissions on print$\WINNT\0 directory are the same as print$\W32X86\2.

No print to Samba (Linux) printer from Win98
I'm stuck.
I have Samba running on my Red Hat 7.2 Linux box. I can mount by remote dirctory
on the Linux box via Samba. But I can't print to the Linux printer. I have a
Linux printer installed and I can print to it using lpr. I have a printer
configured in Samba and can see that from the Win98SE box. I've clicked on the
Samba printer name and configured a Win98 printer.

Can't print to NT printer
I need some help with getting this NT printer setup with Samba server.
I think I have modified all the required files and don't know what else is
missing. An outside observation should find the missing link.
Here is my /etc/printcap:

Unable to upload printer drivers
Ok, quick rely, i got a memory freshup..
The samsung driver in the xml, is not package aware.
See: KB3170455 (w7) KB3163912 (w10) which is the cause of this problem.
Now removing these KB's is not option.
So we are back to :
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/print/constructing-a-package-aware-driver-with-updated-core-drivers
Read it, but this is what we are

No printer status on Win2K client; Win98 and Linux clients are OK
My Win98(SE) Samba clients can query the Samba-exported printer status,
but Win2K(SP3) clients cannot. Both clients can actually print
documents.
I am running Samba v2.2.3a on a Linux (Red Hat v7.3) system. This server
makes 2 printers (via a LPR subsystem) and several shared directories
available to our Linux, Win98 and Win2K (soon to be WinXP also) clients.
From a Win98 client, print
