smb_panic with 4.0.0rc2 on Debian Squeeze
Hi, I have successfully compiled and installed Samba 4.0.0rc2 on Debian Squeeze as described in the Wiki. In order to support Win XP and Win 7 clients, I have created GPOs for folders redirection. The problem I am facing is with random PANIC messages in the logs and logon/logoff/file access process gets hung on the client. Here are the logs: Oct 18 13:42:32 pdc smbd[27384]: [2012/10/18

Dear list, I keep getting strange "internal error"s from smbd. I increased the log level to 3 and pasted the relevant log snippet. Does anyone know (or guess) what's going on? What should I check? Any direction to investigate? Thanks a lot, Sascha ? =============================================================== [2014/03/24 13:28:49.787910, ?0, pid=13041, effective(3000026, 20),

Help with Possible Bug in Samba 4.1.5 on Connection Close
I've got a CTDB 2.5.2 Samba 4.1.5 cluster where I'm seeing smbd processes using too much CPU after the client connection is closed. Doing a truss against the smbd processes shows nothing during this time, so no syscalls seem to be involved. I rebuilt with debug enabled and took stack traces from an offending process spaces about 1 minute apart. Can anyone from the team tell me if

samba crashing on start up INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11
Samba has been running great but now I'm seeing a problem. Been compiling from git 4-4-test, but even 4-4.stable (4.4.5) has the same issue. I've tried to follow the troubleshooting guide and this is what I come up with: # nmbd -FS nmbd version 4.4.6-GIT-1305ba6 started. Troubles with Mac clients
Hello. At a customer's site I had: _ Windows 2008 DC; _ Samba 4.8 fileserver on FreeBSD 11.3/amd64 on UFS; _ several Windows and Mac clients. Recently, having to move to Samba 4.10, I decided to bring up a new fileserver in a jail (and let the base 4.8 one die after transferring all shares). I have no problems with Windows clients, but several strange things are happening with Macs.

I'm unsure if some configuration error could be involved (have researched for some hours) or it is a bug-file candidate? Log contains this: Feb 29 12:11:56 localhost smbd[27433]: #0

Winbind using 100% CPU
I am trying to figure out why winbind is using 100% CPU on my file server. I am using Samba version 4.0.4. Everything is fine for a few minutes when I start winbind, however after a while it begins using 100% CPU. I haven't been able to narrow down what triggers this CPU usage spike, but I did attach the GNU debugger to find out what's going on in the process. The backtrace revealed this

After that the server begins to shutdown itself with the message "Server exit (failed to receive smb request)", to close all the connections and when closing it crashes due a talloc error. I cannot reproduce myself this error and it occurs
