Dear All,
I'm facing a really big issue. We have upgraded our Windows 2003 Domain to 2008 R2. I have configured the smb.conf as follows:

realm = A.SPACE.CORP
workgroup = A
security = ADS
encrypt passwords = true
password server = gedaspw02.a.space.corp gedasvw02.a.space.corp

Samba 3.5.9 with Windows 2008 R2
Hi All,
We're going to upgrade our DCs to Windows 2008 R2 native mode soon, so we're facing with the challenge that how to get our samba servers (Solaris 8 & Solaris 10) work with Windows 2008 R2 native mode. I've compiled Samba 3.5.9 with AD support. Then I installed and configured the binaries on my 3 test machines (one Solaris 8 and two Solaris 10). The strange problem is one

Force group syntax for multiple groups
Hi All,
What is the syntax of option "force group" for multiple groups? Is there any one can help me on this? I really appreciate it. I want to give the permission the shared directory to multiple groups but I don't know what is its syntax.
I already tried "force group = group1, group2, group3" but it did not work.
Thanks
Anh.

ADS member server to 2008 R2
Hi all,
I have a strange problem, and I can't seem to solve it.
I have set up a Ubuntu 9.10 server with samba+kerberos to be an ADS member server. The PDC was a 2003 SBS server, and all was well.
Recently I added a 2008 R2 server standard to the mix, and promoted it as a domain controller. Ever since I did this, the samba server stops working daily.
I have updated to 3.4.7 out of the

winbind issue with Windows 2008 R2 - domain trusts
Hello,
I have a problem that just propped up after our windows admin did some
work. He introduced some new domain controllers and upgraded the
domain to 2008 R2. The primary domain that our linux boxes are in
seems to work, it's trusted domains. Here's an example domain:
FOO.BAR.LOCAL
The boxes are in the FOO domain and I can getent passwd and see
accounts in there fine. I used to

Able to join Samba client as MEMBER server to Windows 2008 R2 RWDC but not to RODC
I'm trying to join a RHEL 5 client to a Windows 2008 R2 AD, I've tried both

able to successfully join the client:

Samba 3.6 member server auth problems after DC upgrade 2012 R2 -> 2019
I will take your suggestion.
Still, Samba 3.6 appears to support SMBv2 just fine.
Windows 10 PC's and Windows 2019 Servers are able to connect as a
client, with SMBv1 disabled.
As long as there's a Windows 2012 R2 server doing the backend
authentication.

Administrator cannot connect to samba on 2008 R2 ADS members
I have an odd situation where Samba 3.x domain members in an Active
Directory 2008 R2 domain cannot authenticate the Administrator. All
other users work, but if I try to connect to the samba services as the
domain Administrator, authentication fails. The Windows domain
controllers are happy to accept connections from the Administrator (e.g.
using smbclient) but the Linux (Centos 5.5 and 5.6)

Yes, at least for Win7 Pro.
You have to disable DNS lookups.

Hyper-V 2008 R2 support ?
Hi,
I'm trying libvirt to connect to Hyper-V servers. It works fine for
Hyper-V 2012 servers, however it doesn't work for Hyper-V 2008 R2 (the
exact error is |

Samba 4.0.9 winbind isn't passing through uid and gid numbers from Win 2003 R2
List, I've seen this problem in the list archives before, but the only
problems I can easily find are using Samba 4 as the DC. In my case, I'm
trying to add a Debian Wheezy member server (running the 4.0.9 packages
from enterprise samba) into an existing AD domain where the DC's are
running Windows Server 2003 R2. Every GID and UID coming back out of getent
passwd is coming out as

Kerberized NFS4 w/AD 2008 R2
Is anyone currently using CentOS 5.5 with 2008 R2 AD authentication and a
fully Kerberized NFSv4? If so would you mind sharing your configuration
with me?
I have been able to successfully get it working with Windows 2003 as
discussed earlier on the list

Unable to join Windows 2008 R2 server DC to Samba DC
I have identified and fixed the problem!
The wellKnownObject for the default computer container was missing! I’m wondering if this was a bug from an old version of Samba, as we provisioned the domain with Samba 4.0.3.
I used ldbedit to manually modify the directory and add CN=Computers as the wellKnownObject default computer container. Windows 2008 R2 now joins successfully.
Thanks,
Justin
