[Rocks-Discuss] Virtualizing RockCluster 5.3
is there a way to virtualize rocks5.2 on rocks5.4? I have been trying to and
the gecko based install menu keeps failing. The error is a http 404 when
looking for the release notes to display. any Idea of what causes that? I
had that happen last time I tried to install rocks 5.2 on bare metal. The
only notable thing about my network is that its on a 255.255.254.0 subnet
mask. I can reserve its ip

Updating gfortran in CentOS 5.4?
We're finding that several of the packages we
need don't compile using the version 4.1.2 of
gfortran that comes with CentOS 5.4. So,
I've built the latest version of gfortran (e.g. 4.4.2)
but I've done it so that all the new version's
files go in /share/apps/gnu so that they
don't interfere with the standard gcc distribution
(building gfortran requires building some parts

How To Recover From Creating >2TB ext3 Filesystem on MSDOS Partition Table?
(I've already sent this message to Ted Ts'o directly. I should
have sent it to this list first but I didn't know about it
until today. My apologies to Ted.)
Last Friday a system that I just inherited refused to mount
a file system that had been working fine for about 6 months.
This is on a Scientific Linux 4.3 system using a 2.6.9
kernel. This is another Linux distribution based on

Samba Serving NFS Mounted Directories
I have a Sun 7310 storage server. This is
running Solaris 10 but it's self-contained
and I can't login to it or run Samba on it.
I manage it with a web interface.
I have a CentOS 5.3 machine that mounts
a bunch of file systems via NFS from the
Sun server. This works fine. I installed
Samba 3.4.5 on the CentOS machine and
configured it to share some of the directories
that are actually NFS

iPDF cluttering up file system
I have a customer using OS/X that creates thousands of PDFs per month
using a tool called iPDF ART5.
The server is Centos 5.x with samba-3.0.33-3.29.el5_5.
Every PDF he creates also creates a hidden file with similar name.
These files get rsync'd onto my server and my tape robot attempts to
save them to tape but generates file not found errors.

Auto directory creation not working
Hello,
I am experiencing problems with auto directory creation for user shares.
I have samba instance that is authenticated against samba PDC, on PDC i have 2 groups, group1 and group2.
What i want to do now is to have separate folders for user shares for each group.
so /mnt/share/group1/user1 would be for user1 in group 1 and /mnt/share/group2/user2 would be folder for user2 in group 2

Samba 1.9.x vs 2.0.7 not connecting to MS DOS Server
I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature...
The 2.0.7 version no longer wants to connect to a DOS 6.22/DOS LANMAN2.1
(wg1049.exe) server. Version 1.9.18 does work.
Both smbclient and (more importantly for our needs) smbmount fail.
However, both work fine with win95 boxes. The problem seems specific to the
DOS server. I could not find any reference to this issue. Am I perhaps
overlooking

Decision Tree and Random Forrest
I think you are missing the point of random forests. But if you just
want to predict using the forest, there is a predict() method that you
can use. Other than that, I certainly don't understand what you mean.
Maybe someone else might.
Cheers,
