Develop ineo 25e printer and CUPS
Hi all, I have a Develop ineo 25e printer, and want to set it up with CUPS. I connect to http://localhost:631/ and add the printer, with uploading the PPD available here: http://www.develop.eu/en/products/office-products/colour/ineo-25/downloads.html (English, Linux, version 1.1 dated 2012) The printer is network connected, and the connection is socket://192.168.129.100 job-sheets=none, none

WINSPOOL_EnumPrinters Found 0 printers one system with 1 parallel CUPS printer
I've had this problem for a while, but only recently have I realized that I better fix it soon! I compile my own Wine out of git. Currently, I'm running wine-0.9.29-g5441536 but this issue appeared long before that. Moreover, I stopped being able to print between Wine updates, so I don't think it is anything to do with changes in Wine's code. The simplest way to reproduce my

Greetings, My help request is about samba that can't print using CUPS from windows. I tryed to search for help on mailing-lists archives all around, and with the great Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf but didn't found a clue about my problem. I can print the CUPS test page, but can't print anything from windows using samba's share. I use samba-3.0.2a I compiled myself. It has been

APW issue and excessive Get-Printer-Attributes in CUPS access_log
Hello all, I am trying to get to the bottom of a printing issue with samba-3.0.25b-2.fc7 and cups-1.2.11-2.fc7. I wasn't sure whether to start here or the CUPS list. When left running for an hour or two, the CUPS process will often be left using nearly 100% CPU. At this point, printing and add printer wizard operations from Windows clients over Samba are unreliable. Dialog boxes pertaining

Samba 4, CUPS, and one slow printer
I'm running CentOS 6.5, cups-1.4.2-50, and sernet-samba-4.1.4-7. I have five Ricoh copiers configured as printers using RAW queues in CUPS. Samba is configured as an Active Directory domain controller. I followed the "Samba as a print server" guide in the wiki. The [global] section contains load printers = yes. The [printers] section contains the following: path =

Samba ignores printer options when printing via CUPS
Hi all, I'm having a few problems getting samba to pass along settings for various print options for all of our printers. Printers are set up using PPDs in CUPS, added to samba via the cupsaddsmb command and then added to windows clients via point and print. Unfortunately any print jobs sent from windows appear to completely ignore many of the CUPS settings such as duplex and print

No Printer Connection, Samba sharing cups printer
Hello! I'm using samba to share printers from a cups service. In the windows explorer both printers, a network tcp/ip printer connected using a jet direct box and a pdf printer added by the package cups-pdf, are visible and both can be used from the cups web interface and work. When trying to use each from the windows explorer: The pdf printer can be printed to just fine. The jet-direct

Windows XP printer status, samba and cups
Hi all, I am trying to get decent printer status without timeouts in windows xp (no sp1 installed). When I installed the printer it gave access denied, unable to connect but it printed the test page fine. I rebooted, logged in as normal user and tried to access the printer configuration folder. It took a long while but in the end it gave an ok status on the particular printer, when opening the

RE : S3+CUPS+PDF pseudo printer : print command not functional on service
Thanks for your answer. So for my PDF printer, I switched back to BSD printing (calling cups-lpd), and keeped the local (to PDF printer) print command definition. It works now. I still had to add to cups (which automatically generates the /etc/printcap file) a fake printer with the name of the pdf printer (to avoid the loss of the manual addendum to /etc/printcap for the pdf printer). CUPS Printing to PostScript Printer
I'm having trouble printing to a HP LaserJet 6MP Postscript printer. I'm using CUPS and normal UNIX printing works fine. I've tried to configure SAMBA for point and click printing. That all seemed to go okay except that what is printed is: ===================================================== -12345X@PJL JOB @PJL SET RESOLUTION = 600 @PJL SET ECONOMODE = OFF @PJL ENTER LANGUAGE =

cups printer oddity
Dear list, in CUPS, I have to absolutely identical printers configured (I believe), except for the printer name and the hostname it connects to. I use cupsaddsmb on them (same PPD). When I try to connect to the printer prn-1101-001-d110-1, it works; for prn-1101-001-d111-1, it does not. I have narrowed this down to the following difference in the output of rpcclient -c enumprinters:

Problems loading printer list using Samba 2.2.7a with CUPS
I am using Samba to successfully load the printer list directly from CUPS with one fairly significant caveat. If a printer is added to CUPS while Samba is running there is apparently nothing I can do to have it visibly appear when doing a list of the services in Samba (such as with "smbclient -L"). This is also a problem if Samba starts before CUPS in the boot sequence. I find that

Samba/CUPS printer queue troubleshooting guide (XP clients)?
We have a printing reliability problem with Samba printers/queues and we are trying to figure out how to troubleshoot it more methodically. Situation: We've been running Samba 3.x (always current/latest) for over a year with primarily Windows 2000 clients. This summer we are converting our 100 Win2K PCs to XP; this conversion is nearly complete. Our Samba printing is CUPS-based to HP
