SYSVOL ACLs and GPOs
Hi,
I have installed a virtual testing network consisting of one samba4 PDC
(latest git master) and one Windows XP Pro SP3 (fully updated)machine.
I have successfully provisioned an AD Domain and joined the XP machine
to it.
When I run the gpmc on the XP Pro machine and select:

Does SAMBA4 Support AppLocker in Group Policies?
Hello!
AppLocker is a newer technique which allows users to control access to
certain programs
and it was introduced in Windows 2008 Server and Windows 7 (clients).
I wonder does SAMBA 4 support it?
Thank you!

Domain Controller GPO
Hi All,
I am using Samba4 Alpha12, and i am trying to edit the password policy
(which I believe is derived from the PDC's policy), but I am trying to
figure out whether Samba4 can respond to GPOs. If It cannot, how would I
define the password policy for the domain? Thanks.

Name Resolve Order : parameter of smb.conf with testparm
I am writing this letter and I hope that I'll have answers about the
generation of smb.conf by the way of smb.conf.master with testparm command.
Like is described on page 5 of Samba3-HOWTO.pdf.
The situation is:
- The manual of smb.conf says that the default value of the parameter ?name
resolve order? is ?lmhosts host wins bcast?, but when I type the command
like:
# testparm -s

Sysvol Replication in Samba4
Hi,
We installed a samba4 AD controller using Gpo for a small group of users
(5 users), everything is OK.
(Samba4 beta 7 on Ubuntu 12.04)
We installed another Samba4 AD controller as a BDC of the first one with
the command "samba-tool domain join" with succes.
After checking this new installation, we saw that the sysvol share was
not replicated from the PDC and all the Policies are

(Samba4) Normal users unable to login
This is a freshly provisioned Samba 4.0.0-rc5 installation.
I provisioned the domain and created shares in the configuration file to
match an existing Samba 3.5.x installation that we're moving away from
(or at least, that's the plan...) for various reasons.
I then moved all the contents of the shares over from the old server to
the new server via rsync, including home directories and

Samba4 ADC cannot edit GPO with W2K3
Hello,
I have been trying to setup a working environment with samba4-rc1 on
fedora 17 following the samba4 howto at the wiki.
DNS and ldap are internal.
Everything looks like working, I can create and edit GPOs with WinXP Pro
but with Win2K3 server I can create GPOs but I can't edit them. I cannot
see any error at the log.samba file. Win2k3 gives an error that I will
try to translate to

Vista Roaming Profiles and GPMC.MSC
Hi All
Our company got a Windows Vista installed laptop even though we ordered
it with XP. Now I'm faced with the task of integrating the beast into
our samba controlled domain. Something I was hoping to delay for some time.
Our PDC is samba 2.2.8a with openldap 2.1.4
We also have a Domain Member Server running samba 3.0.10.
There is a document on the Microsoft site that I downloaded

Organization of Users in Samba4
Hello,
I am working on migrating from OpenLDAP using the inetOrgPerson schema to Samba4. I would like to continue to provide backwards compatibility with our existing authentication service. In OpenLDAP, users are all contained inside the People organizational unit and referenced by uid, for example:
dn: uid=myuser,ou=People,dc=example,dc=com
When using samba-tool to add a user, it places the
