BUG: SAMBA 3.5.x and IBM TSM
Hi! I am using SAMBA 3.5.x and it doesn't work with IBM TSM. IBM TSM works properly with SAMBA 3.2.15. Is there any chance to solve this issue in future SAMBA versions? Samba & Tivoli Storage Mgr (TSM) Integration Query ???
All, Can anyone confirm that Samba/Solaris will integrate with TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) when deployed into a Wintel client environment. ie. Solaris/Samba as a TSM client - we need to be sure that the ACL's will be maintained correctly via a TSM backup/restore (full or partial) Or confirm this does not work, which is not what we want to hear - but the truth will suffice. Many thanks,

TSM on ext3
Long back I found that TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager - a backup/archive program sometimes still called by its older name of ADSM) didn't handle ext3 filesystems very well, and provided a note with workround for Stephen's documentation. I've just pulled the TSM client version 5.1.0 and one of the announced features is ext3 (and jfs) support. So if you use TSM and upgrade, you can take

IBM GPFS filesystem
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone might be able to speak about using IBM's GPFS filesystem as a means of storing virtual guests in a clustered environment with CentOS as the nodes and KVM as the hypervisor? I'm looking at using IBM's TSM software for archiving data from disk to tape. This requires buying a license for GPFS which is used in conjunction with TSM but can also be used

Using TSM to back-up glusterfs
Hi We have been trying back-up a glusterfs (v3.1.4) area using the Tivoli TSM software to an off-site area. samba GPFS and HSM?
Hi - I was wondering if any of you may be able to point me in the right direction. I am in the process of designing a fairly large fileserver solution in an MS Active directory environment. I have setup and tested ctdb samba, however, after several discussions with a couple of my colleagues, i am now considering a more vanilla flavour of samba. The key features the solution requires are: •

How well does printing support scale in Samba 2.2.x ?
Hi, I'm working on a printing project consolidating a bunch of NT machines with a Solaris printing machine. I'm concerned about the scalability if I increase the number of printers from say 20 too 300. How does it effect the response time for looking up and changing device setting etc. Thanks Gunnar Gunnarsson

Suspiciously broken filesystem
I appear to have a broken filesystem on this box to the point where I am probably going to rebuild the system since I have lost trust in it.... I was wondering if there was any reasonable postmortum work I could do on it before it gets rebuilt. History is that the laptop has a much mauled partition set on it - initially it came with 100% win2k, I then shrunk that and added linux (a RH71 install

Echo Cancellation, what format does the .sw files have
Hi I'm debugging why echo cancellation does not work in my app using the DUMP_ECHO_CANCEL_DATA flag. What format does the data I receive have, looks like 16bit integers just dumped but when plotting it in MATLAB I do not get a raw audio data signal I expected. choose.files limit?
Howdy, When I use the choose.files command to read files a large number of file names to a character vector inside a function, used to access these files one after the other, there appears to be a limit. I do not know whether it is arbitrary, but in this case the limit was 991 files. The file names are long. Does that matter? The error message that appears says that it cannot find file #992

lustre_rsync and verbose output of changed files?
Hi I need to back up a Lustre filesystem using TSM, and am trying to find a way to generate a list of changed files from the Lustre changelogs, so that I can pass this list to dsmc to backup only the specified files (rather than having TSM traverse the filesystem to scan for changes). It seems like one way to potentially do this, is to run lustre_rsync using the --dry-run option, and get a

PAM on Solaris
I have been having problems with openssh and PAM on my Solaris 8 box. I needed to use pam_krb5, and I always got the wrong owner on my credentials file /tmp/krb5cc_xxxx. The owner became root... It seems to me that the settings of uid should be before actually calling pam_setcred() in session.c, and when I do change around those lines, it started to work. From what I can see this is not
