Winbindd filling log file with " final write to client failed: Broken pipe"
Hello, I've set up winbindd to authenticate local users against our active directory servers and everything works fine. I see plenty of the following lines in my logs and I'm wondering if someone can help me troubleshooting this: [2011/03/31 15:15:02, 10] winbindd/winbindd_cache.c:cache_retrieve_response(2666) Retrieving response for pid 8749 [2011/03/31 15:15:02, 7]

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
That's certainly on the list of options. I'm doing data gathering right now to see what options there are. I'd prefer not to rashly decide to run off in a direction only to discover this is already a Solved Problem. nomad On Thu, May 14, 2020 at 1:13 PM Bart J. NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
Thanks Bart. Unfortunately "The VIB module does not comply with the security recommendations imposed by VMWare. You lose VMWare support by installing this package." This pretty much rules out this option. :( We need vCenter support, as well. nomad On Thu, May 14, 2020 at 10:06 AM Bart J. Debian Stretch Samba Packages 4.8.3 available (amd64/i386)
Hai Stefan, > upgraded a DC (one of two) from 4.8.2 to 4.8.3 (including some debian > jessie upgrades, did reboot) ?? Can you explain that process a bit more? As i understand you did the following. 1) upgrade a debian Jessie to Debian stretch. ? 2) upgrade samba from jessie to stretch. ? Is that correct ? Im asking because i did not build any jessie samba 4.8.2.. The cache entry,

sequential processing
Like many others, I am new to R but old to SAS. Am I correct in understanding that R processes a data frame in a sequential ly? This would imply that large input files could be read, without the need to load the entire file into memory. Related to the manner of reading a frame, I have been looking for the equivalent of SAS _n_ (I realize that I can use a variant of which to identify an index

Winbind Issues with Server 2003/2008
Good morning all, I really hate emailing lists, but I've come to a wall that I just cant work out how to get past at the moment, so am hoping for some community assistance if possible. Some background: We are running Windows Server 2003 on all of our domain controllers, and are in the middle of migrating to server 2008 R2. We have unix exentions enabled (rfc2307 I believe), and manage

[PATCH] host-up and host-down hooks
Hi, Here's a dead simple patch that causes tinc to run optional host-up and host-down scripts as hosts come up and go down. This allows custom host up/down functionality to run without having to know host names in advance. Please consider for future inclusion in tinc. I can provide documentation patches if this is accepted. Regards, Menno Smits NetBox Blue http://netboxblue.com/

Old connection_t for .... messages
Hi, One one server running tinc we're seeing a lot of syslog messages like the following: Old connection_t for XXXXX (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 655) status 0014 still lingering, deleting... The last time these messages appeared, they referred to 2 of the 3 remote ends that this server is connected to. They appear regularly, once every minute. The VPN still works fine, but I have to restart tinc

error in passing an argument to do.call when do.call is in a for statement
Dear R-users, I am having a problem with passing an argument to a function in a do.call function which itself is in a for statement. I am building a function to upload question pools to the blackboard learning environment. This function which transforms questions to XML style output should be generic and allow for any function to generate questions. Therefore I use do.call in this function.

The Recycled PIDs Fix
** Low Priority ** Hi Volker, This is regarding your fix on recycled PIDs. I am an NCP developer from Novell and we use libsmbsharemodes library from Samba for Cross Protocols Locks between NCP, Samba and others. I have few queries regarding your fix. In your fix, you have added a new field called 'unique_id' in the server_id structure and we need to pass this in our call to samba

winbind not working with openlikewise
Hello all, I'm having a problem with winbind not able to start. I've joined an active directory domain successfully using likewise and for brief time this was working, people were able to mount drives by their active directory account. I know that likewise is working because I'm successfully able to ssh into the box using these accounts. But now windbind has stubbornly refused to
