samba constantly creating mapping
Hi all, I have Samba server joined Active Directory domain based on win2008r2, using LDAP as idmap backend. Recently I upgraded from 3.3.x to 3.5.x (Sernet RPMs for Centos4). Now I constantly observe those messages in log: [2011/02/03 09:10:25.696896, 0] winbindd/idmap_ldap.c:1471(idmap_ldap_set_mapping) ldap_set_mapping_internals: Failed to add S-1-5-21-3807515285-1394671770-2144936185-513

Winbind uselessly using up Idmap range in ldap
Hi, We have just managed to get winbind behaving correctly in a Samba domain with Samba member servers with help from Sernet. It is now not adding spurious entries for the "own domain". However, a member server keeps trying to add group mappings that already exist in the LDAP idmap ou. This would not be a problem, apart from the fact that every time it fails adding an entry, the

DFS root only works for more recent Windows clients
I've been testing DFS roots and I'm finding that while Vista and 2008 Server clients can connect with no problems, Windows XP Pro and 2003 Server clients fail. This seems like it's the wrong way round - Samba usually has more difficulties with recent Windows versions than older ones - but I can only assume that there's some registry/policy change between the versions. If anybody

ORC API C Standard/System Libraries
Hi all, First of all, I want to say that I really appreciate all the work that's gone into LLVM, clang and the ORC API. I would be very unlikely to be doing my current project if they weren't available. I'm using the ORC API to JIT some C code (soon to be C++) on Windows. (I was on LLVM 8.0.0 but it didn't handle the 'allocator' attribute so I upgraded to LLVM 9.0.0.)

C++ JIT Compiler with LLVM on Windows 10 - part 5
Hello Lang, Good work! That was very quick ;-) > I will file a bug tomorrow to add COMDAT support to ORC. I won't have time to work on this feature any time soon, but I will try to provide a sketch of the solution in the bug report in case you or anyone else is interested in taking up the challenge. :) => I suspect this could be an issue that could get in my way more significantly

[LLVMdev] Compiling via bitcode on Windows
I'm trying to use Clang on Windows to compile C++ to bitcode and then to an executable (with a view to carrying out some experiments on whole program optimization of the bitcode). When I use clang.exe, even with -D_HAS_EXCEPTIONS=0 -fms-compatibility -fms-extensions, I get errors: main-621e97.o : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _Unwind_Resume referenced in function main

LLVM linking problem
When I use clang on Windows to compile a program using regular expressions to intermediate code, then run the result through llvm-link and finally try to generate an executable, I get an error. All of these ingredients are necessary; it works if the program doesn't use regular expressions, and it works if I compile it directly instead of going via intermediate code. The use of the exact

samba caching group memberships
Hi all, our setup is Samba 3.3 in W2K8 domain. It seems samba cache group memberships somewhere and after adding user to a new group it's necessary to relogin for that user to get new memberships. Is it possible to eliminate that nasty procedure? Thanks. -- Vladimir Vassiliev

Printer: User Intervention Required - Use Printer Offline
For some reason, I cannot get samba (or Win98, depending on how you look at it...) to allow a win98 client to print. I search the list archives, but I didn't find anything similar. So here goes. Symptoms: - Win98 client can access fileshares OK. The printers show up OK as well in network neighbourhood. - On Linux, printing (lprng) works OK. - In win98, e.g. dir >

llvm-mc & Microsoft's MASM
Hi all, I'm working on a project that uses clang-cl & lld-link to build for Windows, along with some tools out of the Windows SDK... but we're currently pre-building some pieces of MASM assembly code using Microsoft's ml.exe & ml64.exe. Unfortunately, it's not all inline assembly, which clang can already handle, and Microsoft's file-level directives are a bit unusual.
