Unable to use more than 1000 concurrent ntlm_auth processes
Hi List, I'm running a heavily loaded squid server that uses ntlm_auth to provide NTLM authentication. As load has increased over time, I've found the need to increase the number of ntlm_auth processes available to squid as well as the "winbind max clients" value in the smb.conf file. This has worked well up until now but seems I've hit some sort of limit. If I keep the

Windows member servers have lost their minds...
Hello all... I'm having a serious problem after a Samba upgrade from 3.0.20 to 3.0.23c. A bit of background: I have a network with a Samba PDC and several member servers running Windows 2000 server. I upgraded my PDC from Mandrivalinux to RHEL5, which (obviously) included a Samba upgrade. I renamed the old server to a different hostname and IP address, and disabled Samba on it, then I copied

tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
I am still struggling to get one of my samba servers to work with the new security on RH 7.3. Any help is appreciated. The "not fully working computer" serves as a print server for the Window computers. You can log into it, but you cannot see it from the Network Neighborhood. On some versions of Windows you cannot find it through the "Find Computers" programs. The

Re: tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD - fixed
Thank you. Thank you, Michael. I saved smb.con, smbpasswd, and smbusers. I stopped smb. I deleted the three samba packages from the system. I re-installed the three samba packages (2nd cd of the set) I moved my configuration files back in /etc/samba I started smb and everything works. >On 2002-06-11, Margaret Doll wrote: > >MD> > Do you have a file unexpected.tdb in

How does WinXP pass username/password?: NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
I have a small network that includes two Linux computers and one Windows XP Pro computer. I'm trying to get share my Linux resources properly with the Windows computer. If I set it for share level security and set a user name for each share, along with guest ok, then I can get in as whichever user I've set... even root. I've tried a few scenarios with a basic smb.conf and I have

NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Hi, I have a problem with the NT domain password validation. When I define a user a local Unix user with the same name like the Windows user the password validation works fine: [1999/10/27 19:52:19, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(488) miriam (10.133.122.42) connect to service fax as user lp (uid=4, gid=501) (pid 18676) The above service fax was configured with force user = lp Because

Strange SAMBA Winbind behavior - WBC_ERR_AUTH_ERROR - NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Hello All, I am having a weird behavior and after 2 days of trying to fix it, I just decided to ask the experts in this group! I have a RHEL5 box running SAMBA 3.4.3-41.el5. Users authenticate via Winbind to a Windows 2008R2 Domain controller. Authentication is fine, users can log in but ... 1. When user type their login/username, it takes 3 seconds to get the password

wbinfo -a always failing with NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Hello! Please help! I have been googling and experimenting for the past few days, but I can't get user authentications to work with my AD domain. Fedora Core 2 running Samba 3.0.7-2.FC2 Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition After much fuss, I was able to get it to join the domain (had to disable client signing). "wbinfo -u" and "wbinfo -g" both work fine, and I can see

I've had samba in production for a few weeks, as follows: samba 3.0.20b openldap 2.2.13-4, idealx tools 0.9.1 red hat AS 4 clients: all XP sp2 Samba's the PDC, nothing fancy about the setup other than trying to use LDAP for authentication. So far everything's been mostly fine, then yesterday for some reason a number of my users couldn't authenticate after logging out or

Andrew: RE: SPNEGO=NO to solve Multiple simultaneous connects from the same client system.. We're finally getting around to implementing this parameter...we've discovered that it breaks connectivity with some of our Windows Xp clients...for some reason certain users are unable to authenticate from some of the Xp systems (the logs report NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER). Shockware + firefox sound issues
I have firefox installed under wine (v1.5 on 20050830) and running fairly well. I have installed Shockwave + flash, both of which seem to work as good as their native counterparts (Native Windows in the case of shockwave) except that sound in shockwave is jumpy and seems to be suffering from an underrun issue. This is the output in the terminal: fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with
