Freebsd pdc
I was just wondering how many people out there are using FreeBSD as a pdc. I see a few guides on the net mostly followed by a load of posts of problems people encounter. Is it like most things that once you have done it once you can soon set up a machine at the drop of hat as you encounter and remedy any problems. I have a few customers at the moment one of who requires a pdc with roaming

shared/public mailbox doesn't exist
I have 3 servers running dovecot 1.0.10. 2 of them are configured with a shared/public namespace, but I'm having trouble getting it to work on the third, even with 2 working examples to go by. There's something I'm missing, and I'm hoping that someone here can see/tell what it is. I've created the maildir for sharing: # cd /home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com # maildirmake

Question about MWI in Asterisk 1.4.0
Hello I am running the following setup in order to make VoIP calls at home. Home Phone <-> SPA3000 <-> Asterisk Home <- IAX2 over Internet <-> Asterisk Office The voice mail for Home Phone is hosted on the Asterisk Office machine. I wanted to have a way to check the status of my voicemail on my home phone directly. In order to do so, I've patched both Asterisk Home and

MS Desktop and MyDocuments in /home?
Hi! Im rather new to Samba, so please excuse me, if I'm asking something obvious. Im using Samba in my Home- Lan as PDC for WinXP Prof Clients whith roaming profiles. Since all clients in the LAN are Dualboot WinXP/ SuSE 9.2, I would like an easy way of accessing my files the same way when I use Windows or Linux. Therefore I moved the users "Desktop" and "MyDocuments"

Server being kicked out of the domain every couple of days...
Hi there. Very particular issues here.. A few months ago, we migrated our authentication system to a MacOS 10.6 server mac mini. It acts as a KDC and Windows primary domain controller. No major problem there. Except that once a week our main file server (samba client, domain authentication) would deny any incoming connections. I found that issuing a net join command ; entering the admin

Syntax in taking log to transfrom the data to fit Gaussian distribution
Hi, I have a data set (weight) that does not follow the Gaussian (Normal) distribution. However, I have to transform the data before applying the Gaussian distribution. I used this syntax and used log(weight) as: posJy.model<-glm(log(weight) ~ factor(pos), family=gaussian(link='identity'), subset=Soil=="Jy"). This syntax COULD NOT transform the data. But if I transform the

spandsp 0.0.3 RxFax fax reception crashes bristuffed asterisk 1.2.13
Hi Last month, people reported a crash with Asterisk 1.2.13 and spandsp-0.0.3 when receiving a fax using fax detection. Today I've tried 1.2.14 with the latest spandsp 0.0.3pre27 and with the snapshots for app_rxfax.c and app_txfax.c. The problem still happens. Has anyone found how to resolve this issue? I tried emailing Steve Underwood (with crash backtrace) but he hasn't

SLOW connections
Hi everyone, I have a small home network with a Samba 2.2.3 server on Linux serving up my files and printers. However, from windows machines (win 98) connecting to a share takes an annoyingly long time (in the order of 10s of seconds) Connecting from a linux box is very quick. I have configured Windows 98 to fully reconnect the share on logon. If I don't, Windows Explorer hangs all

Uniden UIP200 and Asterisk v1.2.4: problem not registering
Hello We recently moved to Asterisk 1.2.4 (from 1.0.x) and our 10 Uniden UIP200 have stopped working ever since. We can make a call with the UIP200 to any other extensions, but it can not receive a call. In fact the UIP200 always appears offline: It does show up in asterisk a few seconds after the UIP200 reboot: -- Saved useragent "Uniden SIP Phone p2 Ver BS4.70" for peer uip200 but

G729 or GSM
Dear all. I recently subscribed to a VoIP provider through IAX. The require to connect with either G729 or GSM, I chose G729 based on their recommendation. The service works very well, however ... people mentions how distorted our voice sounds. We have plenty of bandwidth available so I don't think it comes from our side. What it means is that it comes from two things: 1-G729 gives bad

Hello, I am writing out to a file and have two quick questions that I can't seem to track down the correct answers for. Luckily, I *think* they are both simple enough that someone might be able to point me in the right direction on them without too much trouble. Both questions relate to the process below where CompleteFrame is a data frame containing what I want printed to a file. filename

XMail is not bad either. Strictly command-line oriented but very powerfull (if you want my opinion anyway). http://www.xmailserver.org I've been using it for almost a decade now (!) s. --- On Wed, 23/6/10, Charles Marcus <CMarcus at Media-Brokers.com> wrote: > From: Charles Marcus <CMarcus at Media-Brokers.com> > Subject: Re: [Dovecot] step-to-step Installation Guide
