Failed join operations
I'm running a PDC on Samba 3.60. Just freshly upgraded it from Samba 3.028a with the purpose of supporting Windows 7. However though all the existing users and computers are running fine, I'm stumped trying to join a new Windows 7 machine to it. I have applied the DomainCompatibility registry fix. When I try to join a Windows 7 workstation I will get this message : The join operation

NT_STATUS_NO_MEMORY when browsing file server on Belkin modem
Hello, Can someone help me to track down the source of this problem? I'm trying to access a file server running on a Belkin modem with an attached USB drive. Judging my the quality of the firmware on the device, I'd say there's a good chance of it being buggy. But it works well enough on a Windows machine, even one running inside Virtualbox under Linux. I therefore see no reason

3.6.0: smbclient can't access a NT4 share
Hi, I upgraded to 3.6.0, but since that time, I can't connect to a share on a NT4 Wks host any more: # /usr/bin/smbclient //molek-04/lightcycler -U administrator protocol negotiation failed: NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT I thought it could be something with 'client ntlmv2 auth", what is 'yes' since that version. But even if I switch it to 'no' it's the same. What

Samba large file support negotiation when accessed via UNC path
I am experiencing a strange problem that I hope someone out there has experience withf. We have a large fileserver running samba 3.6 backed by a 12T ext4 filesystem. We keep lots of VMware VMs on the filestore and I am trying to make some improvements to how we manage/launch/use the VMs. To that end, I've been trying to launch the VMs via the VMware VIX API by UNC path (not mapped drive).

kb2536276 causing issues with non encrypted password configuration
Many of my clients installed kb2536276 on their windows client and can no longer connect to my samba server. Their sessions don't even get logged. I upgraded to 3.5.9 on my test server with no luck. Encrypted with local authentication to the smbpassword file seems to work fine, but I need the servers running non encrypted samba to work. I'm running 3.5.6 on AIX 5.3 using PAM auth and

Directories recursive deletion problem
Hi all, We are trying to export RozoFS (a scale out nas, see www.rozofs.org) with Samba to windows clients, but we're facing a strange behavior. While every thing sounds good, windows 7 explorer fails to delete directories recursively. We create a directories foo/bar on the share, if we suppress foo with the explorer, bar is suppressed but not foo (do it twice and you're done), on the

winbind, idmap_ad and ldaps
Hello from Germany, I have a problem with the following constellation: A Samba-Fileserver - Samba 3.5.6 - running in a Windows AD as a member server using idmap_ad for the mapping the User-IDs. This all works fine as long as the LDAP-port 389 is available on the domain controllers. Now, our AD admin wants to close this and move over to LDAPS. And here is my problem. How do I configure my Samba

The Recycled PIDs Fix
** Low Priority ** Hi Volker, This is regarding your fix on recycled PIDs. I am an NCP developer from Novell and we use libsmbsharemodes library from Samba for Cross Protocols Locks between NCP, Samba and others. I have few queries regarding your fix. In your fix, you have added a new field called 'unique_id' in the server_id structure and we need to pass this in our call to samba
