samba 3.5.4 winbind rfc2307
Hi, We recently updated our domain to 2008R2 servers from 2000. I know the services for unix changed from the proprietary setup in 2000 to rfc2307 compliant around 2003 R2 I've updated samba to 3.5.4 (apparently most earlier versions don't play well with the changes in AD), and gotten things essentially working. The problem is users created since the old 2000 servers have been

audio/vorbis media type registration
This is the first draft of the audio/vorbis media registration form to be handled to the IANA. PLEASE comment extensively, even minor spelling mistakes etc are to be stamped out of this I hope. A media type for application/ogg (or should it be application/oggsquish?) will be created separately. I would be very happy if someone could supply the 4-letter filetype code used by MacIntosh .ogg files.

Add id to form_tag?
Hi all, What is the correct syntax to add an id attribute to a form tag with the "form_tag" helper? I''ve tried start_form_tag({:controller => ''houses'', :action => ''find''}, {:method => :get, :id => ''search''}) start_form_tag({:controller => ''houses'', :action =>

Complex SQL in paginate command?
Hi all, Is there a way to create pagination with a complex SQL, more complex than the :conditions option will support? I have two databases, houses and images. Houses has_many images, and each Image belongs_to house. I''m creating a search engine for the house records and I''d like to be able to filter out all the houses without any associated images. So far I''m

Strange Unit Testing error - newbie question
I''m fairly new to Rails, and I''ve been learning from AGILE WEB DEVELOPMENT WITH RAILS. Everything has been going smoothly until the chapter on Unit Testing, where I''m getting some strange errors. I''m up to page 141 in the Agile book, and attempting to run the test program containing the method test_read_with_hash. The previous tests work properly, but I

How to paginate in descending order?
How can I paginate a set of fields in descending order based on their created_on date? For example, in a blog app, you want the very first entry on the first page to be the most recent. I see that paginate has an :order parameter, but I don''t see any way of changing the direction of the order. Thanks, Jeff Coleman -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

validates_format_of ?
Hi all, I''ve got a form which accepts a "price" field and I''m attempting to validate it and allow some flexibility in the way the user enters it. It''s a numeric field but I want the user to be able to enter dollar signs and commas naturally in the data entry. I''m trying to understand how to use validates_format_of, and I''m not sure what

text_field_auto_complete not working in IE?
Hi all, I''m looking for some insight on why my text_field_with_auto_complete might not work in Internet Explorer. I''m using it in a fairly simple way, without much customization. I''ve broken it down and made a test page at http://realty.colemanation.org/houses/test which shows the behavior I''m having problems with. For me on Windows XP this page works

Rake not finding lib/tasks folder?
Hi all, I''m attempting to set up a new Rails app using Typo. I''ve downloaded the Typo 2.6.0 edition which includes Rails 1.0 and it works fine. I''ve set up version control with SVN and checked out a new working copy. I''ve run Capistrano -A on the application and it''s set up my deploy.rb and lib/tasks/capistrano.rake. Rake doesn''t seem

How do you create the first index?
I''m attempting to implement acts_as_ferret, but I haven''t been able to find out how to create the first index. I see the "rebuild_index.rb" file, but it tells me "Uninitialized constant: Content" if I try to run it by itself, and I''m not sure if I can invoke it some other way. Any clues? Thanks, Jeff Coleman -- Posted via

(no subject)
Hi all, the lists seems to be littered with disconnect problems using various equipment (TDM 400,Linksys etc etc.) My question is very simple and could make for good solution to Asterisk users. Since * can detect various tones according to different country standards would it be possible to disconnect on the 'off-hook' warning tone? This tone is: 1400 Hz, 2060 Hz, 2450 Hz, and 2600 Hz, at

gnlsControl
When I run gnls I get the error: Error in nls(y ~ cbind(1, 1/(1 + exp((xmid - x)/exp(lscal)))), data = xy, : step factor 0.000488281 reduced below 'minFactor' of 0.000976563 My first thought was to decrease minFactor but gnlsControl does not contain minFactor nor nlsMinFactor (see below). It does however contain nlsMaxIter and nlsTol which I assume are the analogs of

[LLVMdev] amd64, FreeBSD and shared libraries
Hello, I am trying to build llvm-gcc 4.2 w/ llvm 2.2 on FreeBSD/amd64 and have found that it doesn't seem to want to build shared libraries. I've found numerous notes that I should try --disable-shared, because the linker ends up erroring out with a linker error when building libgcc_s.so. Subsequently, the same error is produced when it attempts to build libstdc++.so. If you do happen to

Question about auth-master, deliver, and SQL maps
I have been running Postfix/Dovecot with a Postgresql backend for several months, and everything has been running great. Now I want to add server side filtering, so I'm attempting to configure deliver. The SQL maps for Postfix are all keyed upon the recipient email address. The SQL map (user_query) for Dovecot is keyed upon the IMAP login name, which is potentially unrelated to the email

[PATCH] Increase HIVEX_MAX_VALUES
Hello, As we discussed briefly on IRC about a month ago, HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices can contain greater than 55000 (HIVEX_MAX_VALUES) values if VMWare’s snapshot functionality is frequently used. This is due to an unintended interaction between Windows and VMWare’s snapshot functionality. VMware has a knowledge base article regarding this issue, although it does not directly mention

help loading files into R for koRpus analysis
Hello all, I need some help with loading text-file data into R for analysis with packages like koRpus. The problem I am facing is getting R to recognize a folder full of Word files (about 4,000) as data which I can then make koRpus perform analyses like Coleman-Liau indexing. If at all possible, I prefer to make this work with Word files. The key problem is the struggle to cause R to
