NTLMv2 can't auth affter Win2003 update
My AD server is Win2003. And my linux server is ubuntu. Samba version is 2:3.6.3-2ubuntu2.12 and 2:4.1.6+dfsg-1ubuntu2.14.04.7. They are join into the Win2003 AD as normal smb servers (not DC). winbind question
I could use some input to point out the error in my configuration, which eludes me. Previously I operated a 225-node cluster with samba 4.3 and sssd on the Linux boxes. Everything worked OK. Now I am using samba 4.11.6 on CentOS 7.7, patched up to date. The DC, on a KVM VM, is the only node configured so far. I am using winbind in place of sssd (my first experience with winbind). windows and nfs4 acls
Hi everyone We're really struggling with nfs4 <--> windows acls. Scenario Samba4 share --> cifs --> win7. No problem Samba4 share --> nfs4 --> Linux. acls not inherited Neither is there inheritance vica versa. e.g. It is not possible to create files with group rw on a umask 0022 nfs4 share. nfs4_setfacl cannot override umask. Using POSIX or windows acls this works

[PATCH 3/3] v2v: windows: Use '*.inf' files to control how Windows drivers are installed.
Instead of trying to split and parse elements from virtio-win paths, use the '*.inf' files supplied with the drivers to control how Windows drivers are installed. The following emails best explain how this works: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-October/msg00352.html https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-November/msg00065.html Currently the product variant (eg.

Large file system idea
This idea is intruiging... Suppose one has a set of file servers called A, B, C, D, and so forth, all running CentOS 6.5 64-bit, all being interconnected with 10GbE. These file servers can be divided into identical pairs, so A is the same configuration (diks, processors, etc) as B, C the same as D, and so forth (because this is what I have; there are ten servers in all). Each file server has

getent passwd does not list trusted users
I am running Samba 3.5.5 on Solaris 10. This is the latest Sun/Oracle provided build. I have an ldap backend for everything (unix+samba accounts, idmapping for domain trusts.) The Samba server is a PDC for a domain we can call "SAMBA." Each samba account is tied to a unix account. I have a one-way domain trust setup with a Windows 2003 domain which we can call

Samba3+KBC
Hi list, I run a Samba-3.0.0beta3 / Heimdal-0.6 system and want it to be the BDC of our Win2003-controlled domain. The reason is that we had to move from our perfectly working samba-PDC to a windows system and I want to keep the user profiles on the old, but stronger, Linux box(now on SuSE8.2). I get(kinit) a ticket of the Win2003 without any problem, even for admin users. But If I try to connect

Samba 3.0.22, Fedora Core 4, ldapsam (OpenLDAP 2.3.24). smbd will not start, with the "ERROR: failed to setup guest info" error (I have "guest account = guest", which is a valid user with correct info in LDAP): ldap_connect_system: Binding to ldap
