Problems with samba 3.4.3 as PDC for Windows 7
Hi all, I am testing Windows 7 Ult with Samba 3.4.3 as a PDC for Windows
7. I am using a simple, smb.conf file, domain name is "mygroup" without
the quotations. Windows XP clients can join correctly and login as
normal. However, with Windows 7, I can get the client to joint the
domain, but when I reboot, I get a machine trust error and the user can
not log onto the Windows 7 client.

Adding a machine acount
Hi,
I migrated from an MS NT Domain to a samba3 domain some time back. I
forgot about a couple of machines and am trying to add them. These are
Buffalo NAS workstations so are basically *nix machines with a web
interface. I have not had to add any machines to the domain from the
samba PDC before. This is what I've done. I tried to add the machine
using it's web interface but it failed and

Upgrade from Vista to 7 + samba = error
Hello everyone,
I'm using Ldap + Samba PDC 3.4.7 in a Debian Lenny machine (backported).
I've been able add successfully 3 hosts with windows 7 on my domain. Now
i upgraded a notebook from windows vista to windows 7.
I could not log on the domain (the trust relationship was broken), So i
tried to remove and re-add (after applying the registry patch file) the
machine in the domain

I would be extremely grateful if you could cast your eye over my problem
with getting Windows 7 PC back onto on a Samba domain?
I have the current version from lenny-backports: 2:3.4.8~dfsg-2~bpo50+1,
the client is windows 7 Ultimate. logins and profiles and nelogon

Upgrade/migrate, lost workstation trusts
> So, net getsambasid and net getlocalsid both return the same value, which matches the SID in the backend LDAP database. So, maybe not a SID problem after all.
Here's a log snippet from the server after a logon attempt from the workstation in question, with the failed workstation authentication. I'm not sure how to further debug "credentials check failed":

Win7 client, Samba PDC
I'm trying to set up Samba as a PDC for some Win7 clients, and could use
some help. I can successfully join the domain, with the message "Changing
the primary domain DNS name of this computer to "" failed.", but I am still
told that it was successful.
However, when I try to log in, I am told "The trust relationship between

PDC: "The trust relationship ... failed" from the beginning
Hi,
When I try a net logon from Windows 7 64-bit Business (don't have any
other Windows machines), I get "The trust relationship between this
workstation and the primary domain failed". The discussion I've found
around the Web regarding this error message seems to be only in the
context of the 30 day password expiry issue, where the solution is to
simply rejoin the domain.

BDC Rejecting auth request from client + Windows 7
Just some background: In our environment, we are running both a PDC and
BDC. The local network setup has static ips on a different subnet from dhcp
ips, thus the PDC has a static ip and the BDC has a dynamic one so the
Windows machines are able to see the domain without hardcoding in the ip of
the PDC as a wins on each machine. This has worked fine for Windows XP. We
are also using ldap as the

Samba 3.5.6 : netlogon_creds_server_check errors in logs
Hi,
I have a Samba (v3.5.6) PDC with a LDAP backend. We have Windows XP and 7

Windows 7 + Samba domain issues
Hi all,
Earlier I emailed the list on some issues I was having with Windows 7, and one of those issues was the trust relationship breaking down after one month. I think I have some more light to shed on this topic.
First, some environmental facts
I am running Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 with Samba 3.4.0-3ubuntu5.1
I have installed the latest LDAP schema into OpenLDAP 2.4.18-0ubuntu1
I have a working

Joining 4.2.2 Samba client to Samba3 PDC
Just a pointer..
try with settings like :
client lanman auth = yes
client NTLMv2 auth = no
client plaintext auth = yes
i dont know the exact setting are which you need, but look in the man of smb.conf
man smb.conf search for NT4, you see more settings.

Win 7 - Rejecting auth request from client
Hi,
I have an odd issue where I'm getting auth request failure errors for all
my Windows 7 machines. The strange thing is that everything appears to be
functioning perfectly. I can add machines to the domain, log in as domain
users, browse domain shares, and the machines regularly change their trust
password. So functionally, everything is fine.... it's only the log
message which is

Domain Member Server connecting to Samba PDC
Hello:
I'm trying to set up a small domain on my home network. ?The goal is
to have a domain member server connect to my samba PDC using winbind
for authentication against a tdbsam database. ?I've tried reading the
official howto, and a few help sites, but I'm still having difficulty
accomplishing my goal. ?I'm using Samba 3.3.2 on Fedora 11 for both

Help - Cannot join Windows 7 client to Samba PDC
I have been going through all the Wikis and various Google searches to try
to solve my problem, all to no avail.
I can mount a Samba share, but whenever I try to login using a domain
account, I receive an error about "The trust relationship between this
workstation and the primary domain failed."
What I have done so far, all to no avail.

Samba after upgrade+migration, Win7 workstation trusts lost
Hello list - I am not sure my messages are getting out to the list, so I
will attempt in this message to summarize the problems I am having that have
been the subject of a few other posts.
I recently upgraded from a command-line Slackware installation to Debian
Jessie. As part of that exercise, Samba was upgraded from 3.5.x to 4.1.17.
My upgrade method was probably not idea: I recursively
