My server reboots every hour! Help please!

Bad Password
Everyone, I am going nuts trying to figure this problem out. I have successfully joined a SUSE 10 server to our domain and configured samba for ADS authentication. This exact setup works on all my other servers. On this one, I keep getting access denied when entering my domain password despite the fact that I have tried it literally dozens of times. I am 100% confident I am

security = server, 3.0.25b
Hello, all Just attempted upgrade from 3.0.23c to 3.0.25b and had to revert. We have 2 Samba servers, one as a security = user machine, the second as a slave off the first, using security = server and password server = first server. Nothing fancy in the config. I can get to my home on the second server, but other mapped drives are giving me a user/password prompt that 3.0.23c

Samba trusts, mapping issue, and pam crap domain
I am running Samba ver 3.0.37 on Solaris 10 (sparc) as a PDC with LDAP for the backend for both samba and unix accounts. Assume the samba SMBPDC is called "PDC." I have also set up a trust with an Windows domain- lets call it WINDOMAIN- (the PDC for the Windows domain is Win 2003 but is in mixed mode for backwards compat.) The SAMBA domain trusts the WINDOWS domain, not not vice

Winbind being flakey
After some more screwing around with leaving and rejoining the ADS domain I was finally able to access a share with "valid users =" set to a domain group I was a member of. The _only_ change I made after this was to add yet another group to the valid users on the share and restart samba...after that I could no longer access the share. I removed the additional group, restarted samba and

Samba 3.0 beta 3 issues
Hi there, I'm using Samba 3.0 beta 3 on RH 9 (connecting to a Windows 2000 domain, as a member server) and I'm having trouble keeping samba running reliably. At random times it seems to stop recognising names from the domain. Restarting winbind fixes the problem, but then it occurs randomly again, usually once or twice a day. At least once it has fixed itself after being broken overnight

Problems with a trust relation between samba and samba different subnet
Hi, well once u try lot and no good result is time to ask. My friends I want to make to domains running samba+ldap to share resources, I want to create a trust relation in two directions. Both domains have wins enable but are on different subnet. Domain Name: DOM1 Netbios Name = DOM1PDC 192.168.50.0/24 Domain Name: DOM2 Netbios Name = DOM2PDC 192.168.40.0/24 Both networks are separate,

Using idmap_rid backend, cannot browse home directory from XP
Samba version is 3.0.10 on Gentoo linux. I am trying to use idmap_rid backend in a Windows AD environment, the Linux PC acting only as a domain member. I am using idmap_rid because I need UID/GID predictability. I can log in to console correctly, and it shows the right user and the "Domain Users" as the group. When I use default winbind TDB, I can browse the home directory from an XP

Pre-3.023d-Bug in ACL-handling reappears in 3.026a
# wbinfo -Y S-1-5-11 Could not convert sid S-1-5-11 to gid # wbinfo -Y S-1-5-13 Could not convert sid S-1-5-13 to gid (S-1-5-11 are the Authenticated Users, S-1-5-13 are the Terminal Server Users.) This bug was finally solved in release 3.023d. Now it is back again. How can I get this working? I'm using idmap/tdb - would another idmap-module solve this issue? The winbind log looks like

Printer server on AD server
Finally is working... I'm not sure, but maybe the problem was stupid (spool folder did not exist for example). Now I've another weird problem and I don't know how to find out the solution. When I use the original server fqdn or the ip address it works prefect, but I've added another dns entry and using that dns name all shares fail. I can resolve the name and even I can see the
