Running Kubuntu linux with wine 0.9.22. Printing via cups seems to work fine from linux ("lpr tiger.ps" works fine). But when I try to print from coverxp through wine I get the following error (and nothing is printed): trace:winspool:OpenPrinterW (L"EPSONStylusC86", 0x33f690, (nil)) trace:winspool:GetPrinterDataExA (0x2, "PrinterDriverData", "Paper Size"

Differences between Samba and Windows 2000 with respect to printer driver uploading.
I have discovered a difference between Samba and Windows which I think is of interest to the Samba team as it prevents printer driver from being uploaded correctly. I would appreciate some comment on this subject please. The difference is that following uploading of the dlls to the Windows 2000 server the driver is loaded on the Server itself and the driver recieves notification of the fact by a

Questions about some Ethereal/log output and spoolss
My user observable errors seem to now be gone but I am seeing some behavior that may need to be looked at. There are error messages in Ethereal and in the logs like "_spoolss_getprinterdataex: Invalid keyname [DsDriver]". First I'll give the brief history and then more details below. I started a new install on FreeBSD 5.1 using samba 2.2.8. I compiled with CUPS (1.1.19). Printer is

Unable to print with the Wine PS driver
I'm trying to get Wine to print through it's PS driver, without success, on a HP DeskJet 694C, configured on Linux with the cdj670 driver. What I get to see on screen after I attempt to print are three windows with exclamation marks on a yellow triangle and garbled text. The first window is titled "Printer name", the second "Device name", the third "Output".

Incorrect pointers arithmetic in the PRINTER_ENUM_VALUES structure when calling Samba.
I try to use Win32API EnumPrinterDataEx to get registry key's values and data from Samba print server (of course I previously connect to the print queue and retrieve keys by EnumPrinterKey). During the function execution (EnumPrinterDataEx) I collect ethereal trace to verify correct data is sent on wire and that Ethereal can correctly represent that info. Some of the keys parsed correctly

AW: duplex settings [ was Re: parsing fix for spoolss & s amba-2.2.5]
Hi Jerry, It seems that the "samba-2.2.5-printing.patch" has only fixed the problem for PCL drivers. With PS drivers (Laserjet 4050 PS) are the duplex & tray settings still missing. printer preferences not settable using samba print driver
We're putting together a Linux-cups-samba print server for Windows clients. A dozen print drivers have been loaded and used successfully on the Windows clients from the samba server. But, one particular printer is causing trouble: a Xerox DC 2240. When a windows client tries to open the printer preferences, after connecting to the printer on the samba print server, a popup says

Hello, There is a printer at work (a Xerox WorkCentre 5325). I am able to print using the following command: smbclient //MyHiddenPC/MyHiddenShare -WMyHiddenDomain -c 'print my-hidden-file.pdf'. However, it does not work when I try to print through CUPS using the following command: lp my-hidden-file.pdf. In the CUPS error_log file, the only error I can read is: [Job 5] PID 27883

windows 7 64 bit xerox print drivers
Samba 3.4.7 Ubuntu 10.04 Has anyone out there got Xerox 64 bit drivers working in a point and print samba set up? And if so, which Xerox drivers? And which method of driver installation? I'm at a complete loss. We currently have an environment with 500 + desktops and a couple dozen Xerox workgroup docucolor MFPs that are running fine now with XP clients and a Samba print server. strange issue with xerox printer: unable to configure driver
Hello list. I've a strange issue with a samba 3.4.3 print server. Everything is fine with most printers, meaning drivers are assigned on server side and automatically distributed to the clients as expected. However, I fail to configure a Xerox document center 7435 the same way. When I attempt to assign a driver to the printer, from a windows client with admin privileges, I get an

Printing problem with Samba, XP, and Xerox Printer
Hello everyone, I am having a problem getting Windows XP clients to print to a Xerox DataCenter 440 using Samba as the print server running on Red Hat Linux 7.2. I have installed the driver once and it worked fine. I then tried to add a second XP client, and while it appears to install and work, nothing comes out of the printer. It even seems to disappear at the print server. Any ideas how I
