Can join ADS domain, all accounts/auth work fine, but leaving domain fails
Hello all, As the subject says, as far as I can tell everything works on my ads integrated samba server. Domain accounts can be used for ssh, and accessing shares, I just can't leave the domain. Here is a successful join command followed by an unsuccessful leave command at debug level 4. Any ideas? TIA, Mark user@dordal:~$ sudo net ads join -U administrator@MYDOMAIN.COM -d 4 [2009/03/19

Joining a win2k3 ads fails
Hello, I'm trying to join a win2k3 ADS domain using a working config on a debian 'Lenny' (arm processor) from another machine running gentoo (x86 processor) (only changed the netbios name). Samba versions are 3.0.26a on both the machines. I'm pretty sure this is not a kerberos or ldap problem, anyone has a clue what else it could be? # net -d 3 ads join -U administrator

SAMBA ADS integration - windows user account rights
Hi all, first of all is it possible to join a Linux machine to AD using a windows user account that is not a member of the group Domain Admins? Cause when I do this I get the following error while executing `net ads join -d 3 -U syncuser`: #net ads join -d 3 -U syncuser [2007/12/11 13:47:12, 3] param/loadparm.c:lp_load(4953) lp_load: refreshing parameters [2007/12/11 13:47:12, 3]

Samba version 3.0.23d-1 and joining a Windows Domain
All, I installed the new version of samba on my Redhat 9.0 server. I have samba running on another Redhat 9.0 server and the version of samba on that box is 3.0.21c-1 and this server has successfully joined a W2K Domain. I am trying to migrate the data from the host that works to the new host. Here are the steps that I have taken to try and join to the domain. 1. rpm -i -vv

Samba 4.1.6-Ubuntu on 14.04 domain join seems successful with caveats, testjoin reports no logon servers...
Greetings, Long-time but very occasional samba user here with a new challenge (well for me at least). The basics are that on the domain join, the computer account gets created but throws the dns error which based on my searching seems non-fatal. wbinfo -t gives me a succeeded, wbinfo -a klm.com\\me --ntlmv2 works fine but yet the net ads testjoin fails. Logs on the domain controller show

Samba 4.1.6-Ubuntu on 14.04 domain join seems successful with caveats, testjoin reports no logon servers...
Hi Louis, Thanks for the reply. Upon checking the URL you sent, I'm not finding which stanzas you're referring to as being samba3 - my smb.conf looks remarkably similar to the sample I see there. Could you perhaps be more specific? Thanks, --Schuyler On Tue, Nov 17, 2015 at 11:23 AM L.P.H. van Belle <belle at bazuin.nl> wrote: > Your using a samba3 config on a samba 4. >

Domain authentication not working
Hi all. I'm trying to share a printer out via samba, and it's suddenly stopped working. Samba says it's connecting to the DC, but then returning NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER. It wasn't doing this earlier today. I haven't changed anything in the top half of the smb.conf file ... only the print-related stuff. Any ideas? The log is saying: [2007/05/21 11:40:26, 3]

Samba trusts, mapping issue, and pam crap domain
I am running Samba ver 3.0.37 on Solaris 10 (sparc) as a PDC with LDAP for the backend for both samba and unix accounts. Assume the samba SMBPDC is called "PDC." I have also set up a trust with an Windows domain- lets call it WINDOMAIN- (the PDC for the Windows domain is Win 2003 but is in mixed mode for backwards compat.) The SAMBA domain trusts the WINDOWS domain, not not vice

Call timed out: server did not respond...
Hello All, I don't know how, but I managed to get my no logon server found error to go away, but now I am experiencing another problem. When I run "net join ads -d 3" I get the following error message. I know it's authenticating, because if I enter an incorrect password it says "The username or password was not correct." So it's accessing the correct server, but

gmirror+gjournal: unable to boot after crash
Hi, after one month with gmirror and gjournal running on a 7.0-RELEASE #p2 amd64 (built from latest CVS source), the box hung a couple of times when on high disk load. Finally, while building some port it won't boot for no reason obvious to me. publishing printer to ADS not working
Hello everybody, I have run into a problem which I am not able to resolve by myself :-( Yesterday I have added a new printer (cups) to a Samba 3.0.28a server. The new printer showed up in the network neighborhood (Windows XP) and I was able to print to the new print queue. Then I tried to publish the new printer to the AD ( we use a windows 2000 server for user administration and GPOs) with the

[airween@gmail.com: DC's are still unavailable when PDC halted]
Hi folks, sorry for the re-post, I need some help to solve this problem. Since my previous e-mail, we made a set-up: there is a Clear Pass device (Aruba), which controlls the network access for users. Between the CP and these two DC's there is a load balancer. But, when we stopped the DC1, which was set up first, and the DC2 works continously, then the authentication of users is stopped

Winbind issue connecting to trusted domain controllers
Hi. The quick question: Is there a way of forcing a Samba server that is an Active Directory member server to limit lookups to it's local domain only and not all trusted domains? The question in more detail: I have a Samba server that is joined to my local AD domain ("css.ad.example.com"). There are other domains under ad.example.com such as lps.ad.example.com and
