qemu-dm cpu utilization
Using an 8-way ES7000 with 32GB of ram, I''m running xen at changset 11217
with dom0_mem=3092M as a kernel parameter on a x86_64 hyperviser.
It appears that qemu is adding too much overhead to
virtual machines to display graphics.
If I boot a sles9sp3 domVT in runlevel 5 with vga=0x314 for a graphicalboot, and immediately use
vncviewer simply to watch the virtual machine as it boots,

Xvideo and X.org on Intel GMA
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hiho,
I already reported this in <455F4553.9020109@tommie-lie.de> and found
time to reinstall compiz yesterday and the problem still persists.
I have Ubuntu's X.org 7.1.1 running on a Intel GMA 950 and latest
compiz. When watching Xvideo files, the overlay window remains black. If
I slightly move the video window, the video appears with

first entanglements with custom drop-shadows
Hi there again!
I wanted to give a brief glimpse of the look of the new/customizable
drop-shadows for compiz. In contrast to my earlier post today I
currently follow the brute-force approach. 9 elements for the shadow...

For the middle shadow-part there is a 2D-vector as parameter to allow

quetions about dimensions
hi ,everyone,
I have a script shown as below:
> bj2=bjerrdata$tyerr[bjyearnum[2]+1:bjyearnum[3]]
> length(bj2)
[1] 448
while
> b=bjyearnum[3]
> a=bjyearnum[2]+1
> bj1=bjerrdata$tyerr[a:b]
> length(bj1)
[1] 169
it is different with bj2 and bj1 . and the array bjyearnum is
[1] 0 279 448 633 1021 1365 1813 2237 2839 3314 3798 4157 12
why bj1 is 169 while bj2 is 448

Postfix LDA vs the Dovecot LDA + other quetions
Guys ,
1. What is the benefit of using Dovecot' LDA as compared to postfix's LDA? Will there be better performance?
And along the same vein,
2. What is the benefit of using Dovecot's SASL as compared to Cyrus SASL? Is there better performance?
3. Quota Management ( Creating, enforcing, notifying ) - is it done thru dovecot or postfix or are both needed?

Equivalence of TSQL Stored Proc and User defined functions
RoR Equivalence of TSQL Stored Procedures and User defined functions
As I browsed through the tutorials and online eBook ?Programming Ruby?,
I have not come across the terms ?Stored Procedures? or ?User-defined
functions? as I know them in SQL 2000.
However, the online documentations in MySQL 5.0 show that Stored
Procedures and User-defined functions are supported in MySQL 5.0.
I wonder what

g-w-d.c -> my head spins
Greetings everybody!
I started looking more thoroughly at gnome-window-decorator.c and now
my head spins and "hurts" and believe that I'm not going to achieve
anything serious in terms of tweakable shadows anytime soon. It's far
more difficult than I expected. While I (believe) to understand now the
shadows are drawn, I currently don't get why there are 12 shadow-quads

Bug with evdev corepointers
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello everybody,
Those who are active in #Xgl on freenode know that I've had segfaults
when starting Xgl during the last few weeks (which is also why there was
no progress on my g-w-d rewrite).
Today I found the time to debug Xgl and to find the bug.
My mouse was configured as evdev device in xorg.conf, and to use it, it
was set as the
