force samba4 DC not to add all interfaces IP's to DNS?
Hi
I have a samba4 DC which also provides same KVM virtualisation services.
During provision all IP numbers of all network interfaces where added to DNS, even the private KVM brigde Interfaces.
Therefore clients which ask the DNS for AD-DNS records often get the IP of a an interface as answer, which is not reachable.
This slows down things like login etc.
I removed the DNS entries of the

samba with acl support as member auf a samba controlled domain?
Hi
I am running a Samba PDC and a Samba member server in his domain.
The member server acts as a file server with unix acl's working.
Is it possible to get these acl's working under samba to?
The docs seem to say, that acl's are only possible if samba is a
memberserver in an NT-Domain using winbind.
In my case the PDC acts as a LDAP Server and the Member server is gets

migrating from Samba 3 PDC to W2008 AD
Hi all,
I already can successfully join Samba 3 (3.3.x) server to AD domain and setup winbind service to see
domain users on linux server.
The main problem for me is that I want to save all already existing uids and gids on linux server
without any change.
Firstly, I can map domain user to unix user with "username map" option
vova = CORP\vova
But this trick doesn't work for

Problem accessing a share on a W2008 server via smbclient
Hi
We just installed a W server 2008 server as antivirus server.
As this server is heavily underused we created a share to backup files
from other servers.
This share is easily accessed from XP pro Pc's via \\ipadr\share and
giving a user/password name on the W 2008 server.
We then try to use it from an open suse 9.3 linux server via smbclient.
smbclient //ipadr/share -U user%password

Samba 4.1.17 Raise domain level to w2008 R2
Dear all,
My , samba-tool domain level show shows me it is W2003:

Domain and forest function level for domain 'DC=tplk,DC=loc'
Forest function level: (Windows) 2003
Domain function level: (Windows) 2003
Lowest function level of a DC: (Windows) 2008 R2
Can I raise without issues to W 2008 R2?
Or should I stay with 2003?

[LLVMdev] TableGen crash
TableGen crashes while building llvm when it tries to generate
/llvm/tools/llvmc/plugins/Base/AutoGenerated.inc from
/llvm/tools/llvmc/plugins/Base/Base.td
As a result AutoGenerated.inc is full of garbage and it's not possible
to proceed any further.
I've debugged TableGen and found out that it dies somewhere in
EmitForwardOptionPropertyHandlingCode().

Cannot access samba users from Windows Server 2008 r2 trust
Hi,
our setup is
Samba 3.3.12 as the Trusted Domain (Domain name: SAMBA)
Windows 2008r2 as the Trusting Domain (Domain name: W2008)
The trust itself works quite well, users of the SAMBA Domain are able to
log into the workstations of the W2008 domain and even roaming profiles
are working.
However, when I try to configure permissions on a share of the W2008r2
server to users from the SAMBA
