[PATCH] tis authserv support
Hi,
We at BalaBit IT Security Ltd developed a patch against openssh 2.3.0p1 to
support TIS authserv authentication. TIS authserv uses a simple protocol,
and supports CryptoCard, SKey, password etc. authentication.
The commercial versions of SSH support this protocol, OpenSSH implemented
SKey on its own using the protocol primitives originally invented for TIS
authentication.

Problem with Samba config under SUSE SLES 10
Hi all,
I'm having some difficulty configuring Samba correctly.
Something I've noticed is that changes I make to Samba config through YAST aren't being retained in smb.conf.
The smb.conf timestamp appears to change ... but that is all.
Can anyone suggest what the problem could be?
Does this mean I'll have to use command line configuration?

Samba as an Open Source case study
At http://www.opensource.org there is a quite powerful evolving argument
putting the case of Open Source software (thanks, Netscape :) As part of
this there is the beginnings of a collection of case studies. They are
obviously looking for high-quality stories along the lines of "I had this
brand-name software and I replaced it with free XYZ and I've never looked
back."

patch for TIS (skey/opie) *and* passwd auth via PAM
Hello,
appended is a patch that makes it possible to use PAM both for
password authentication and TIS (i.e. s/key or opie or any other
interactive challenge/response scheme). I have developed this starting
from the patch at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/db/61/61906.html on
Debian with openssh-2.1.1p4-3. After configuring ssh with
--with-pam-tis, there are two PAM services, "sshd" and

portfolio.optim and assets with weigth equals to zero...
Hello.
I don't understand a particular output of portfolio.optim (tseries).
I have 4 assets and the portfolio.optim returns an asset with weight equals
to zero.
If I do a portfolio.optim with 3 assets, without the asset with weight
equals to zero,
it returns a completely different result.
That's I would expected the same weights as the run with 4 assets.
Below the code.

tis: cannot alter subset when input matrix contains NAs
When using the tis time series package (v1.9), I cannot select or alter a subset of a time series when the time series is created from a matrix and the matrix contains NA values.
Example:
x<-tis(t(c(1:10,NA)), start=c(2000,1), freq=12)
x[x>0]<-0
The second line yields "Error in if (any(i > nrow(x))) { : missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed"
However, both of the following

job fails to print via samba 2.2.6-pre1 - lpd ASCII a nd postscript test works fine...
Ah, it appears that I have confused myself...
I indeed have ALL of the queues defined as JetDirect with the model
specific driver selected in printconf.
With this combination I am telling linux to modify the job [via the filter]
and then pass it as a RAW [jetdirect] where I SHOULD just have the queue
define as JetDirect with a RAW as the driver and let the job go as
transmitted by the client

smartd.conf get overridden
Yohoo!
I have some issues with the smartd in CentOS5/x64
I edited the /etc/smartd.conf for my needs and restarted the smartd with
"service smartd restart". But the start script is overriding my file. I
checked it and saw the following lines:

Subscripting a matrix-like object
I have an S3 class called "tis" (Time Indexed Series) which may or may
not have multiple columns. I have a function "[<-.tis" that I've
reproduced below.
My question is this: inside of "[<-.tis", how can I distinguish between
calls of the form
x[i] <- someValue
and
x[i,] <- someValue ?
In either case, nargs() is 3, and looking at the values
