New unexpected behaviour when joining a domain
Good morning, I'm running Samba 3.6.5 on a Fedora 16 box, where I configured Samba to act as a PDC. A few weeks ago everything went smoothly; I then had to change the -physical- box running linux + samba, and everything went weird since then. First, I'm using the same smb.conf file from the previous box. The OS hasn't changed, Samba packages might have been updated, but since I

Shorewall OpenVPN, routing back from a LAN
When using shorewall with a road warrior openvpn setup, how can I get the tun interface to masq through a lan interface? Example Setup: Machine A (tun0 10.0.0.1) -----------VPN---------(tun0 10.0.0.2)---------Machine B(10.10.10.1) When I ping Machine B from Machine B, Machine B is receiving the echo request, but it doesn''t know the route back to the 10.0.0.0/24, and there

opening URL for writing
Dear List, Sharepoint sites are used more and more often by researchers as a platform to share all the information in a joint research project. Typically, they can be accessed only by a Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) URL. We are investigating whether it is possible to read and write data to Microsoft Sharepoint sites using R. We have managed to open a read-only connection to read

"We have created an easy and cost effective way to have customized recordings done quickly and with no hassle." I thought this was rather amusing, as: 1. If you want multiple prompts recorded, you need to submit a new order for each, which means that even prompts of a couple of words are still charged at $12. That is NOT cost effective. You could record all your prompts as a single

Is it possible to lower the domain and forest functional level
Hi Christophe, > I don't know exactly, but there were problems with indexes ( as the user said ). since you have issues with your domain, perhaps fixing you domain would fix the sharepoint compatibility. What version of sharepoint are you trying to integrate? > We did not try with the current release and our manager wants to go back to Microsoft :-( > Our samba version is 4.7.5.

SSO with IIS?
I have a customer that I''m developing a solution for on RoR. They have IIS today and use Sharepoint for their intranet. Is it possible to have some kind of single sign-on between these systems? So when a user is logged in to ther Sharepoint she will also be logged in to my rails-app? We haven''t decided yet on what to deploy rails on so I''m open to suggestions... If we

IE6 + Office2003 in same wine instance?
It seems as though both ies4linux and CrossOver force you to have a "win98" wine instance (bottle?). But Office 2003 only seems to work on win2000 instance and up. Can someone confirm this? What would be great -- if both of these apps could get together for the nasty ActiveX stuff. Sharepoint I guess requires all this for it's fully operational (non-degraded) usage. Does

Problem is one of the files will not allow me to write to from the XP mach. this happened after I deleted that share from the smb.conf file and re-entered it. The other file is still fine. I have cut and past the smb.conf file. Can someone tell me what I
