Getent passwd and getent group fail / Samba 3.5.2
Hi all, I just stepped over a problem where I can't add a local user to an AD group. Running getent passwd and getent group doesn't display the AD users. Wbinfo -g and -u work fine. Here is my smb.conf: [global] netbios name = sles11test1 realm = SOMEDOMAIN.NET workgroup = SOMEDOMAIN security = ADS encrypt passwords = yes password server =

Winbind 3.5.2 caching issues under SLES11???
Hi, I don't know if this is a problem of SLES11 or winbind itself. I recently installed the lastest samba winbind 3..5.2 on a SLES9 box and a SLES11 box. If I remove a user from a group in Active Directory the change is visible immediately on the SLES9 box but not on the SLES11 box. Both are running exactly the same version of winbind: gedaiv64:~ # cat /etc/SuSE-release SUSE Linux

Idmap_ad not working correctly under samba 3.5.2
I have investigated further and compared the behaviour of samba 3.3 and samba 3.5 on 2 identical SLES9 VM's. Samba 3.3 is working as expected with our Win2k3 SFU Domain and idmap_ad module. Samba 3.5 is not. I noticed that there are a few kerberos params that have changed in 3.5 but I just can't get 3.5 to work as expected: sles9test3:~ # testparm Load smb config files from

libvirtd does not update VM .xml configuration on filesystem after virsh blockcommit
Hi, Recently We've upgraded some KVM hosts from Fedora 29 to Fedora 30 and now experience broken VM configurations on filesystem after virsh blockcommit. Commands "virsh dumpxml ..." and "virsh dumpxml --inactive ..." is showing diffrent configuration than the one on filesystem. In case of restart libvirtd or system reboot, there are broken VM xml configurations on

4.0 stopped working after updating xubuntu 13.04
Hi I got some strange issues on my samba4.0.1 install yesterday. It happened a while after updating my xubuntu server 13.04 not 13.10. Everything seems to be working fine except shares. Kerberos authentication seem to function properly, also DNS works fine but shares seem semi-broken. I can't mount any shares on my Windows box, including netlogon, profiles. I have one share that is

mdbox index directories: bug?
Hi, I'm using mdbox now (Dovecot 2.2.4), with indexes on a separate disk. Works fine, but the directories for indexes are also present in the storage folder, and are empty. Userdb (sql) returns this: home /var/vmail/domains/somedomain/someuser mail mdbox:~/mdbox:INDEX=/mnt/spool/dovecot/index/somedomain/s/someuser And the created directory structure is:

Yikes! Polycom 501 chokes on BootRom 4.0.0?
I was progressively upgrading this phone from 3.1.2 to 3.2.3, then to 4.0.0. v3.2.3 worked fine, but when I went to 4.0.0 (Even adding the more specific 2345-11500-040.bootrom.ld), it won't run, and just keeps rebooting. Now I've got a really nice doorstop unless someone knows how to get out of this predicament. Help! 0925003705|cfg |3|00|Beginning to provision phone 0925003705|dns

URGENT HELP NEEDED!!! PLEASE!!
Hi, I have a big big problem. I compiled Samba 3.2.6 for Solaris 8 and 10. Environment is Windows 2003 SFU. So far it looked like everything works as expected. Under Solaris 8 i get all groups of a user. Under Solaris 10 I can only see the primary group set under the Unix Attributes Tab in W2k3. I have compiled with the following settings: ./configure --with-ads --with-krb5=/opt/VEGA

Dovecot and CAPITALISATION = grrrr ;-(
Hello, As far as I'm aware, email is case insensitive ? Dovecot however, seems to be taking offence at the fact that someone is sending mail to user at SOMEDOMAIN.XYZ. Postfix has no issues handling it, it when it gets passed over to Dovecot LMTP that I get log lines such as : Sep 17 13:48:22 ukc-vm02-mx01 dovecot: auth: passwd-file(user at SOMEDOMAIN.XYZ): unknown user However user at

Authenticating Virtual Users without domain
Hi, I'm trying to migrate a large number of users to a new Dovecot cluster. The existing mail system allows a user to authenticate with a bare username if they have connected to the correct local IP on the server. e.g. imap.somedomain.com = 1.1.1.1 imap.anotheromain.com = 2.2.2.2 charlie at somedomain can authnenticate as 'charlie' or 'charlie at somedomain.com' as long as

[Tip] Keeping fastcgi in memory
There has been discussion about using wget and curl to ping a server every 5 minutes or so to keep the fastcgi processes alive. I didn''t find a command line for this so I thought I''d post one. Put this in your crontab using crontab -e or your favorite other method: 0-59/5 * * * * curl -r 0-99 http://somedomain.com>/dev/null 2>/dev/null This hits the default page of

Re: setting up asterisk to handle incoming SIP URI
I would like to setup my Asterisk server to process an incoming SIP URI and redirect all requests to a specific context. Example: (1) using a sip phone I'd like to be able to call: sip:somedomain.com *or* sip:someone@somedomain.com (2) i'd like my asterisk server to answer the call and route it to the context=in-from-sipclient which would play thru some DP actions Can anyone give
