Samba transfer rate slower than ftp
Hello,
I have a file server under Debian Lenny, with a 41TB file system (XFS,
24 x 2TB hard drives on RAID 6 on an Areca card)
Reading files with ftp works like a charm and we easily reach the 125
MB/s limit of the GB ethernet card.
But when reading files (on the same clients) from a samba share, we get
around 60 MB/s.
Clients are Windows XP 64 and Seven 64 and show the same performances.

Panic: file mail-storage.c: line 834 (mailbox_verify_name): assertion failed
Hello List!
I've encountered an error after upgrading my system and dovecot. I guess it's probably a result of a configuration problem, however after quite some tinkering with configuration I am still missing the source of the problem.

Alec Saunders post about Mashable Telco's
Interesting read in Alec Saunders blog today.
http://saunderslog.com/2007/03/01/mashable-telcos/
Thought it may interest some people on this list.
As food for thought, why it is that ITSP's haven't come up with more
'interesting' voice applications? When asterisk first became available I
thought it was the beginning of seeing really neat applications, think

Samba shares not appearing
Hi,
I'm currently fiddling with Samba, trying to make it work on CentOS 7.
Before that, I ran Samba successfully in a mixed environment with
Slackware64 14.1 on the server and Slackware/Windows Seven on the client
side.
I have three sandbox machines running CentOS 7. One has a minimal
install with only the samba and samba-client packages. Just to be on the
safe side for fiddling,
