Hi Mariusz, I found this thread at SAMBA.ORG: snip... I can't remember for certain, but try using a relative path. > (e.g. vscan-mksd.so). I tried relative and non-relative path, with this same effect but you've right because in manual for samba-vscan we can read that in samba 3.0 we should use relative path. I had increase debug level of samba daemon and in my log I have found

Samba + Antivirus
List, we are working on implementing an antivirus solution (samba-vscan + clamav)on our samba shares. We performed the steps mentioned on some guides we found in Portuguese and things seems to be installed ok. But when we make a test and try to access a share, every file on it is not accessible (though we can mount the share) and after looking at /var/log/messages we see the following: ... Mar 11

strategies to run two NT4 domains or merge them on one samba host
Hi, we currently run one samba v3.0 domain "DOMAIN30" with WinXP domain members and Win7/8 accessing the file server without domain membership. Then we run a second samba v3.5 domain "NEWDOMAIN" with WinXP/7/8 domain members. Which was migrated from a NT4 PDC to samba 3.0 and to v3.5 eventually. Neither domain has anything fancy about it: users and joined workstations,

inheritance for file properties?
Hi there, I was looking through examples of puppet recipes and came across: http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ClamAV I notice the exhaustive listing of each files properties and settings and wonder if there is a way to have a file inherit settings from other files? Ie instead of: file { "main_cvd": path => "/var/lib/clamav/main.cvd",

Samba vscan VFS Module
I'm trying to configure Samba's vscan on-access VFS module on a box with a working CLAM installation. [CLAM is merrily scanning mail on this box via clamav-milter]. I've set this up before, but this time it seems to be giving me grief. If I remove the vscan-clamav module then everything works, and I can open files. When I try to open a file with the module enable I just get a file

Samba3+samba-vscan+clamav = A big headache.
I just installed samba3+samba-vscan via ports on a FreeBSD 4.x system. Samba is running just fine and thanks to the help of webmin it was easily configured. Today I finally was able to get windows shares to be mounted on my FreeBSD server. So naturally I want to run av scans on it. I set it up to mount the entire C drive and to scan it using clamav which is also installed from ports. I recompiled

ContOS5 and Samba-Vscan
Hi, I am running a CentOS 5 file server in our Windows network and I wanted to add a anti virus scanner. I got a clamav package from atrmps.net, but the samba module samba-vscan is missing. Where can I get samba-vscan from?
Hi there! Am using CentOS 4.4. Have installed Samba and ClamAV. My understanding is that there's a vfs module (samba-vscan) which I have to install for Samba to virus scan its shares. Where can I get it from? I tried stuff like "yum install samba-vscan" etc but it doesn't seem to be there in the repos. I have RPMForge and the usual CentOS repos enabled. Is this something I have
