Using samba 3.5.12 on aix 6.1 when I set "server signing = mandatory"
nothing can connect to my server. Included the smb.conf followed by errors
showing up in the level 10 debug output.

Problems with samba 3.4.3 as PDC for Windows 7
Hi all, I am testing Windows 7 Ult with Samba 3.4.3 as a PDC for Windows
7. I am using a simple, smb.conf file, domain name is "mygroup" without
the quotations. Windows XP clients can join correctly and login as
normal. However, with Windows 7, I can get the client to joint the
domain, but when I reboot, I get a machine trust error and the user can
not log onto the Windows 7 client.

Why am i getting "Transport endpoint is not connected"
Hi,
I got no replies to my last post "win 7 client can't map drive: getpeername
failed"
Anyway I've dug a little deeper on the server side by setting log level 10
and found
the error:
"Transport endpoint is not connected"
Basically I compared the logs (several thousand lines!) from two windows 7
clients,
one of which always works (the good client) and one which

this is my first foray in samba (and newsgroups) so go easy :)
I'm trying to map a network drive from a windows 7 pro client to a QNAP NAS:

I've posted on several forums and got good advice but the problem remains.
Rather than repost all the detail, please see my original posts:

Hello All
I used to back up a Mssql database (about 55GB) to a samba share without
any problems. The samba server "Server-A" was running version 3.4.7
We just got one of those "Netgear ReadyNas3200" things and I tried to
backup up to a share there which sometimes works and sometimes not in
wich case I get the following error:

Hi,
I updated our servers to 4.2.11, and I have a problem, but I'm not sure
if the problem is related to the update.
I am trying to use mount.cifs:

Help - Cannot join Windows 7 client to Samba PDC
I have been going through all the Wikis and various Google searches to try
to solve my problem, all to no avail.
I can mount a Samba share, but whenever I try to login using a domain
account, I receive an error about "The trust relationship between this
workstation and the primary domain failed."
What I have done so far, all to no avail.

"getpeername failed" error when signed communications policy enabled
Hi,
I'm looking for help with an issue that we are seeing with the following
configuration:
We are using Samba (3.5.12-72.fc15) to share out CUPS printers from a Fedora
15 machine. However, a requirement of the system is that these printers are
not directly visible from client systems (Windows 7 SP1 32-bit), so instead
we are sharing them out from a Windows print server (Windows 2008 R2

BDC Rejecting auth request from client + Windows 7
Just some background: In our environment, we are running both a PDC and
BDC. The local network setup has static ips on a different subnet from dhcp
ips, thus the PDC has a static ip and the BDC has a dynamic one so the
Windows machines are able to see the domain without hardcoding in the ip of
the PDC as a wins on each machine. This has worked fine for Windows XP. We
are also using ldap as the

Windows 7 clients not joining domain with Samba PDC
Yes I searched, I tried fixes, I pulled my hair out and finally gave in.
New Windows 7 desktop trying to join a domain happily service XP clients
from Samba 3.5.10 on Centos 6.3.
I've applied the registry fix from
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7#Windows_7_Registry_settings
and rebooted, no joy.

Guest access broken for Win7 between 3.3.8 and 3.5.4?
I've been running samba on RHEL5 for the past couple of years with XP
clients. Late last year, in order to support new Win7 clients, I upgraded
from samba-3.0.33 packages to samba3x-3.3.8 (from the Red Hat-managed
configuration tree) and after some struggles got everything working. But now
after upgrading to samba3x-3.5.4 I am only able to connect as a known user
and not as a guest.
