you can do a domain rename on the win2k3 before switching to samba. But
then you will have an issue with the AD Epoch [1] as it will be
incremented to 1, and that is not supported

Migrate from MS-AD to Samba4
Hi all,
This might be a silly question, but what is the best way to migrate an existing AD domain to promote Samba4 as the domain controller.

Samba4 DC with 2003 domain in w2k foresta level
hi all,
i've added a samba4 additional dc to my domain.
all provision was ok with samba-tool domain join xx.mydomain.com DC
-Uadministrator --realm=xx.mydomain.com command and i can replicate
correctly from winpdc to sambadc.
i have a couple of questions:
1) with adsedit i see objectversion 47 for my winpdc.mydom.com (is w2k3)
which means 2008R2 (correct?)
2) on the samba4 side if i test

Package migration
Now that CentOS 7.5 ships with Samba 4.7 and has MIT Kerberos support, I
would like to migrate away from the Sernet packages. Currently I have two
Samba4 DC's.
Can I easily swap the packages? Do I need to move all roles from #1 to #2,
demote/unjoin, swap packages, rejoin/promote? .. What's the right way to
migrate?
Thanks in advance!

How to migrate a huge AD 2003 domain to samba 4 ?
Hello,
We are thinking about migrate our AD to samba 4.
I found a thread at this list [1] where the steps are:
1. Join samba4 with samba-tool domain join ...
2. ensure that the directory is replicated
3. copy the sysvol share from win2k3 to samba4
4. run samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset on the samba4 box
5.-1000. Test test test
1001. If you are satisfied with how samba4 is working you can launch

Windows 2003 AD/Kerberos Ticket error
I'm attempting to configure Samba 3.0.4 to work with Windows 2003 Active
Directory, mapping users' home directories automatically. Currently we
use this method in production with Windows 2000 but wish to migrate to
2003. The problem seems to be Kerberos related. I was able to join the
Linux box (RedHat 9) to the AD. I can do a "kinit <username>"
successfully. Klist shows a

Trying to Join a Working W2K3 AD
I'm trying to join a freshly compiled 4.0.3 installation as an
additional DC to an existing W2K3 AD according to:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
I have built samba 4.0.3 on CentOS 6.3 x86_64. I am using the method
that describes using the built in dns.
I get to the step /usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool dns add

Hi,
Regarding product activation, there's nothing I can do.
You've to call Microsoft to re-activate your W2k3 licence.
This is due to hardware change on virtualization.

Time sync in Samba4
Hello.
How can I have my windows clients synchronized with my Samba4 domain
controller without using startup scripts??
I've played with Group Policies the same way they are configured when a
w2k3 server is used and I couldn't make it this way.
I also tried installing ntpd.
I'm using Samba4 alpha 15 in a Debian Lenny Box.
Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Felix.

DNS managment error
Hello,
i have an issue with existing installation of samba4 domain controller
that is specific to dns managment.
In the domain I have two samba4 4.0.7 and one windows 2003 server that I
plug periodically to manage the dns.
All fsmo roles are transfered to samba.
All aspects of the domain work perfectly, except one, the samba-tool dns
commands do not work.
All commands when executed on samba

[LLVMdev] DFG of machine functions
I tried debugging it and the issue seems to be in the implementation of
MachineInstrIterator.h and the way it interacts with GraphWriter.h
functions. I found this by replacing the ( template <> struct
GraphTraits<MCDFGraph<MachineFunction*> >) with a similar MCDFGraph based
template of CFG similar to the one in MachineFunction.h (similarly
replacing the DOTGraphTraits with the

[LLVMdev] DFG of machine functions
Hi,
I am trying to generate the DFG of machine functions.
Initially, I added a pass to generate the DFG of LLVM IR functions. This
was based on the mail thread -
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2009-September/025582.html. This
pass worked fine and I was able to generate DFG of LLVM IR functions.
Later, I ported the DFG pass code for machine functions. I ported the

samba4?
Stupid question ahead
background:
Our office is moving, and we are currently using a samba server with
an aging nt4 pdc.
The NT4 will not be a part of the new network, either we replace it
or promote the samba (3.0.21c AFAIK) to pdc.
To me the obvious choice is to install ldap and promote the samba
server to pdc, but...
(OK, here it comes...)
It is a bit tempting to replace the nt4 pdc
