net ads testjoin OK, net rpc testjoin fails
Okay, here's another wrinkle: if I run 'net rpc testjoin' immediately after joining, it succeeds, but 'net rpc info' fails (see below for the -d10 output). 'net rpc testjoin' fails as described in my last message after a reboot. Looking at the output from the failures, I notice that 'net rpc' is looking for SRV records at '_ldap._tcp.pdc._msdcs.DOMAIN'

net rpc group add & by/pass the group scope value
Hi folks, Does anyone have a clue of how to by/pass the group scope value when creating a group in AD by using the net tools? I can delete an AD group, add/remove members from a group but I can't create a group. I reckon it's because of the group scope value (even Power Shell/New-ADGroup prompts for it) $ net -U $ADMIN_USER -S $DC_ADDRESS rpc group add $GROUP_NAME -c $OU Error

Winbind logins failing after upgrade from Samba 3 to Samba 4
Hello, I have a RHEL 6.5 server that was configured to use Samba 3.6.9-167 to authenticate against a Windows 2008 R2 Active Directory domain. The authentication was working fine, but we needed users to log in to this RHEL box with their AD credentials and then access files stored on a Windows file server CIFS share globally mounted on the RHEL box. As such, we added the "cifsacl"

wbinfo; --getdcname vs --DSgetdcname
I'm wondering what the difference is between the two wbinfo functions, "getdcname" and "DSgetdcname". The help is not very helpful here: --dsgetdcname /|domain|/ Find a DC for a domain. --getdcname /|domain|/ Get the DC name for the specified domain. I have a Samba4 PDC that is returning different results for these depending upon whether it's run on the

smbd process with high cpu utilization.
One of my smbd processes used 100% cpu. MySQL-Front strangeness - help needed, esp. from newbies
Greetings to all, I''ve had two reports of strange behavior from MySQL-Front this week from folks new to RoR who are working through the IR tutorial. I''m digging into it and would very much appreciate hearing from anyone else that''s seeing this. Newbies are in an especially good position to help here, as it appears that the problem lies in a recent release of
