Hello, I am using the vfs_gpfs samba module to map ACLs through samba. It works fine on files, but directory ACLs are ignored. Ex: getfacl /sb/share/myplace/ file: sb/share/myplace/ owner: root group: root user::rwx user:afrankel:rwx group::--- mask::rwx other::--- When I try to access this folder in Windows, I get permission denied. SMB share and .mdb files?
Hi. With samba 3.0.25b as part of Mac OS X 10.5.4 Server, I''m encountering issues with .mdb files: Some Windows apps use client software on local machines and one Microsoft Access database on the SMB share. More on the archive bit saga
Thanks to all that have helped so far. I now have a test server running on Ubuntu 6.06 and Samba 3.0.22. I also configured ACL and user_xattr on the filesystem running the shares. But now I have very strange behavior that I hope someone has a clue about. User smith can open two files (foo.txt and faa.txt) with Notepad, Wordpad and Microsoft Word. The behavior for all three is different:
