Samba 3.0.23d - Solaris 10
Good Morning I have not been able to find the binary file(s) for Solaris. I have downloaded the tarball for 3.0.23d, but when I go to run the "make all" command I get the following error: make: Fatal error: Command failed for target 'dynconfig.o' I have not been able to find a workaround for it. Do you have any suggestions? I am running this on a Solaris 10 (release 11/06)

zpool kernel panics.
Hi Folks, I''ve got a 3.9 Tb zpool, and it is casing kernel panics on my Solaris 10 280r (SPARC) server. The message I get on panic is this: panic[cpu1]/thread=2a100a95cc0: zfs: freeing free segment (offset=423713792 size=1024) This seems to come about when the zpool is being used or being scrubbed - about twice a day at the moment. After the reboot, the scrub seems to have

ZFS panic while mounting lofi device?
I believe ZFS is causing a panic whenever I attempt to mount an iso image (SXCR build 39) that happens to reside on a ZFS file system. The problem is 100% reproducible. I''m quite new to OpenSolaris, so I may be incorrect in saying it''s ZFS'' fault. Also, let me know if you need any additional information or debug output to help diagnose things. Config: [b]bash-3.00#

What is the 32 GB 2.5-Inch SATA Solid State Drive?
Does anyone know about this device? SESX3Y11Z 32 GB 2.5-Inch SATA Solid State Drive with Marlin Bracket for Sun SPARC Enterprise T5120, T5220, T5140 and T5240 Servers, RoHS-6 Compliant This is from Sun''s catalog for the T5120 server. Would this work well as a separate ZIL device for ZFS? Is there any way I could use this in a T2000 server? The brackets appear to be

what slows down puppet the most?
Hi guys, Which puppet operations should i try to avoid? I know that probably the most time consuming operations are file copies, but, is there something from the code point of view that I should try to avoid? I''ve seen for example, that on Solaris, puppet will execute pkginfo quite alot of times - sometimes with a package name, some other times without (pkginfo -l), thats extremely time

please help
Hello, I have recently signed up for a "virtual private server" which offers Samba Share. I am trying to connect to my samba share folder through my Windows XP Professional PC by mapping a network drive. I am unable to do this and get the error message, "The network path "name of my server and folder" could not be found. I was told by our hosting provider that they

Changes to HOWTO and maybe Samba Guide for Solaris patches
Sun has changed the organization of their web site a lot over the years, and I just noticed that a URL included in the HOWTO is broken now. Perhaps there are others as well. In section 39.6.2 "Winbind on Solaris 9" (p. 503), Solaris 9 users are directed to download a patch from the following URL: http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/findPatch.pl?patchId=112960;rev=14 But the Sun
