Domain Member Server: Domain Users cannot access shares
So it seems that I have identified the source of all of my permissions issues, though I'm unclear as to exactly why these problems have occurred and would love an explanation if anyone can offer one. I was using mdadm to create a RAID 1 array, formatting it ext4 and storing all of the data that samba was serving on /dev/md0. The two drives that make up the array are hosted by an LSI MegaRaid

MDBOX DSYNC error: Broken physical size in mailbox
Hi All, I currently have a small Dovecot server (Server A) and I've installed a second dovecot mailbox server (server B) and am trying to sync mailboxes from Server A to Server B. Both servers sit behind two dovecot directors on separate hosts and have identical config files (doveconf -n output below). Mailboxes on Server A are on an NFS mount. Server A has been working fine with no

Domain Member Server: Domain Users cannot access shares
Hello to the Samba devs and mailing list subscribers, I've run into a bit of trouble getting a new domain member server setup. I've got three Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit VMs running the latest stable build of Samba built from source acting as Domain Controllers. I've got a fourth physical machine running Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit running the canonical distribution samba (Version 4.3.9-Ubuntu)

Installation woes for rattle (and other packages)
Yesterday I wanted to try rattle on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. I had (and still have) it running (though it complains on startup a bit -- I'll look into that later) on a different bootup on the same machine with 8.04 Hardy. I got an error that libglade cannot be found, and various attempts to get glade support failed. I removed and reinstalled R -- same problem. To avoid the issue of local setup

Stuffing - A plugin to use CouchDB with ActiveRecord models
Hey, Just a heads up on anyone wanting a quick way to start playing with CouchDB (http://couchdb.apache.org/) and Rails without leaving the comfort of ActiveRecord. Stuffing is a Rails plugin that I wrote to let you access a CouchDB document directly within your ActiveRecord model. The plugin is on GitHub: http://github.com/paulca/stuffing/tree/master I posted a short video screencast intro

There's this: https://gitorious.org/couchdb-xapian It doesn't look like it's very actively maintained though. Cheers, Olly

R with CouchDB?
Hello all, I'm kind of surprised that searching the archives and Googling haven't given me a result for this... I've got a large amount of data that is a good fit for CouchDB; it's reasonably unstructured, and such structure that exists is quite fluid. I want to slice the data in many different ways, some of which really don't fit well with a relational database model. I

Nascent plug-in feedback needed: CouchDB cache store
I''ve put together a quick plug-in to allow CouchDB to be used as a caching store. I have a project whereby I want to create a persistent file cache, and CouchDB seemed to be a good approach to try. If anybody has any feedback on this or has a similar need for something like this - it would be much appreciated. Thanks! http://github.com/jpignata/couch_store/tree/master

Samba + ADS - Filepermissions home directories
I configured winbind, samba and pam.d to authenticate via our Windows Active Directory Server. Everything works fine, I can log on to the system using my Windows Account credentials, I am also able to access the samba home share, but I have no write permissions there. What I don't get is: When I give read-write-access to everybody (chmod 777 /home/%USER%), I am able to create and delete

Java install
While using Fedora, I always used java straight from Sun. What is recommended for CentOS?? Getting jetty, java and other java apps working correctly has been a real chore. If I used nothing but RPMs for CEntOS, would I have a real working java install? I need some help on this one badly.
